GREAT TV Shows. Not good, great.

I never liked All in the Family. Too many people I knew identified with Archie Bunker and even proclaimed proudly that they WERE Archie Bunker.

Like that's something to be proud of.

I do recognize that it was ground-breaking by shining a light on important social issues that, up to that point, had been largely ignored.
I felt the same way about AITF - I had an uncle who swore Archie told it like it was. Therefore I've never been able to enjoy it even after growing older and understanf=ding what was really going on ...

Good evening, tonight's program is about the death of a husband, due to his wife's constant nagging. Speaking of constant nagging, we will return with our story, after this word, from our sponsor.

This spawned Rod Serling's next great show.

I submit for your approval the episode that really creeped me out as a kid and still does today, called "The Dead Man." There is another episode here called "The Housekeeper," that stars Larry Hagman.

The best TV memory for me is the early days of Monday Night Football. I always loved watching football. I may be alone here, but no sportscaster before or since has measured up to Howard Cosell. His intro to Monday Night Football and narration of the halftime highlights gave me an adrenalin rush like I was about to run out on the field and play.

I still remember the Dallas-Minnesota game when Dorsett ran for 99 yards - not so much because of that play but because between Howard and Don, I don't think I've ever been that entertained that much in a game by an announcing crew ever.

I find some old shows on Netflix: The Twilight Zone is one that's perhaps my favorite from when I was a kid. Never missed that or I Love Lucy. In High School I always watched Sanford & Son and All In The Family. Others that I liked - Dick Van Dyke, Andy Griffith, and Death Valley Days. My grandparents always watched Rawhide and Bonanza.

Amen. I think my favorite Twilight Zone was either the classic Shatner on a Plane or the one where time stops and a man saves people by doing things while it's stopped so that when it comes back, they are avoided.

Twilight zone I still remember was one where some mirror supposedly reflected your inner or true self. Never forget how scared is was when the main character finally looks into it and sees some horrifying reflection. Scared me to death back then. Nothing compared to what we see today, but then again I was terrified of the "Creature from the black lagoon" too.

It seems snek has finally gone off the deep end, from all the princess searching. That is unless I missed the Greatful Dead, becoming a great television show.

Does this have something to do maybe with Roseanne Barr, having that dream sequence, where she was talking to the spirit of Jerry Garcia, on her tv show?:smile1:

Sorry snek, but by the power invested in me by Dion, I had to pull you over and cite you for "PUI." (posting under the influence)

I guess if it was going to happen, it would be while listening to and posting about the Grateful Dead.

I will release snek into the custody of Worsterman. He will be responsible for him, to make sure he is taking all his meds and that he will not have too many of these senior moments.

Posting on the wrong thread is one thing, but posting on the wrong thread, that he created, this is the stuff that makes him a Hornfans Legend.

Sorry NBH7, but I cannot be held personally responsible for snek's legendary indiscretions with his various princesses around the world!

What he does around the world, comes under the jurisdiction of those particular countries.

We staff just want you to be his personal guardian on Hornfans. Make sure his meds are taken, so that he doesn't post a Slim Whitman song on the "Recruiting" forum by mistake. This could cause confusion, in the heat of recruiting season, some might think Slim is a 4 star quarterback, out of a small west Texas town.

We could do both, play the good cop and bad cop roles. I'll do the questioning and you can do the counseling.

That way we can have our snek and also eat the kek, it's the best of both worlds.

The next thing you know snek will be posting Justin Bieber youtube clips on the "What music are you listening to?" thread.

Santana may well be the only person playing on the baseball forum, in about ten days, so why not. Besides, he has more hits than the baseball team.

My favorite Twilight Zone episode is "The Monsters are due on Maple Street."
Beautifully told story which a great surprise ending. Check it out.
I don't think Santana made a guest appearance, though.

Season 1 Episode 22 for those who want to find it on NetFlix or other media.
