I was to be in Houston on Wed for my fathers surgery to remove a spot from his lung. On Tuesday afternoon he met with the surgeon who worked on his leg...who said that he now felt the surgery unnecessary.
Apparently with these latest rounds of tests and scans the spot, which hadn't grown or changed at all really, seemed to be a little smaller. This development coming almost a year after any chemo, it is unlikely that it ever was cancer. Now that is what was said in the first place,(probably a scar from some sickness as a child) but apparently the most doom and gloom Dr at MD Anderson had gotten ahold of the scans and decided it should come out. So when Dads surgeon looked at the most recent scans he called ********. Even the doom and gloom doc now admitted that it most likely wasn't cancer.
So, great news. It kind of sucked that my father got to spend three months getting all amped up for major thorasic surgery only to be told 12 hours prior..."Nevermind". However, a blessing is a blessing. When I spoke to Mom and Dad that night they were enjoying their "Vacation to Houston" and having some seafood.
I would like to thank you all again so much for the prayers over the last year. It has meant the world to my family. I am in your debt.

Also, I am not impuning the Dr that wanted to take out the spot. I am sure she has saved countless lives with her approach. MD Anderson saved my fathers life.
