Gray Announcement Postponed?

announcement is friday at 9:10 at aledo.

considering the fact that the first people to make it public were horn media sites, i think it's all but a foregone conclusion that he will be donning a burnt orange hat.

Checked around, and apparently it is his birthday... so, Happy Birthday, Johnathan!

This is gonna be a pretty big weekend for us !

JG's decision on Friday, but also the decisions of Tristan Thompson and Jordan Hamilton are due this weekend since the deadline to declare for the NBA draft is this Sunday !

must ... breathe ... must ... breathe ...

I hope I am wrong, but I think we go 0 for 3.

Might want to find something else to do this weekend so it is not a complete loss...

more info. apparently he's going to contact the coaches thursday night, and release the info via text before midnight thursday.

the friday meeting will be just to answer questions.

Word on the street is that JG is choosing TCU. No inside information, but that is what the message boards are saying (which have, obviosuly, been known to be wrong).

I think Hamilton is gone for sure. He has been way too quiet since the end of the season. I think TT is really struggling with his decision because Myck is coming in next year but he will be a lottery pick if he comes out. The kid has A LOT to work on and college would do him well, but I just get the feeling he is gone as well.

This is all speculation on my part, so please don't take this for any more than what it is.

And this is clearly a post that I hope I am completely wrong on.

ugh, not getting Gray would be a fairly powerful kick in the recruiting groin. Is there any option B recruit in waiting, or is this a case of putting all off the eggs in one basket not paying off?

I do, however, agree with you on your Hamilton and Thompson predictions. Pretty sure both guys are gone. And while I don't think Thompson is quite ready for the big show, I think passing up on a lottery pick is just going to be too hard to do.

Let's see then...boards claiming that JG is committing to Texas, you put no stock in...because they are Texas boards.

Boards claiming JG is going to TCU are ok...because they are TCU boards.

Got it.

i have no idea why anyone would believe information on ANY recruiting site or from any source, especially JS or 'cosm. That site seems to be as accurate as the Heavens Gate group at getting things right.

Not that I'm saying any aggy or tcu site is more accurate...i'm just not as confident as some that he's a texas lock.

OK.

- Those Texas boards reporting JG's impending commitment on 4/22...you're smoking crack!

- Those non-Texas (such as Aggy & TCU) boards reporting otherwise...hmmm <thoughtful pause> RIGHT ON!

Considering cosm and JS were right on in regards to prediction of the brenham pair, as well as predicting why they would chose tx, as well as he was predicting massive coaching changes in Oct before anyone else, why the hate.

"Like I said, I hope I am wrong. Jesus appears to be the only guy that seems confident about JG."

I don't know where Gray is going, but almost all the major boards are predicting it is Texas.

jesus is not predicting anything. he is reporting what his sources are predicting, and he has sources close to the issues.

that doesn't mean his reports are golden. just that they accurately reflect the opinions of persons close to our program at the time when he spoke with them, and are no better or no worse than that.

his sources have been right on in many cases and have been wrong a few times. or else they were right and then the situation changed.

his stuff is good, but you have to realize the potential for error. jeese makes that plain to all. nobody is perfect, but this guy has a nice pipeline to some hard info.

more:
also, pay attention to his apparent level of confidence. i've found that when his level of confidence is high that he is seldom wrong.

Well it all comes down to tomorrow night late. I'll have to read about it Friday morning then.

someone posted this 247 vid of the kid to tide us over till tonight.

i've seen him compared to tony dorsett, and i can see that. same fluid running style. same elite vision and speed and acceleration. and about the same size.

one thing i don't recall about dorsett but really like about johnathan is this vid is his economy of effort. when he sees nobody can get to him he takes his foot off the floor and coasts on in. realize that with the big yardage numbers he's been putting up that fatigue is a real issue. earl was good to pace himself like that. couple of times in this vid it looks to me like johnathan could burst a little of the acceleration he clearly has and get into the clear, but he doesn't do it. i'm assuming he's pretty gassed and is taking what he can while preserving what he can of what he has left.

one really nice thing about coming to a program with a feature back already in place is that he won't have to tote every piece of mail for us, so when he's in there, he should be hot to trot.

Glenn, you are right on about Gray. If he shows the Hook'em Horn sign tonight then we are going to be so fortunate to not only one but two top RB's in the country.
