Granger Out For Year

From the haze of injury pleasure, all I have gathered is that he stole a jacket and deserved it.

Suddenly, in the back of my mind, I am thinking of 1987 when I took that sweet denim jacket, with the Iron Maiden back patch, from that Motorhead show at the Freeman Coliseum.

My knees are doomed, doomed I tell you!!!

yeah, stoops always stresses that no one is whining or complaining. Especially right before he whines and complains.

This is double-sided issue. On one hand the injury depletes them a but, so naturally it will be harder to get to our offense.

But I always like to play OU at their peak, that way when we DO win, there are no excuses, and it's marked down as a solid win. Same thing when OU beats Texas.

Hope he has a speedy recovery. He's young, so he'll be ready to go later.

any horn fan celebrating an OU players injury is just not right. granger got what he deserved from the standpoint of 3 OL kicking his *** but i don't think he deserved to be injured.

I hope hit gooddamn knee rots off!

Did I say that too harsh?

Oh well...Those of you who think OU won't be at full strength
without him need to check yourselves.

Wait a minute here big game bob says granger
should just rub some dirt on it and he will be back
in three to four weeks. I believe the discussion went some thing like this.

"to hell the recommended surgery son we got championships to win here let it heal naturally and I'll have you out on the field in no time."

Here is the offical PR quote by stoops:

Does this mean I am stuck with 200 orders of Hanes Super-T "Granger Knee-Out Blow-Out 2008" and a $400 deposit on the Salt Lick party room?!!!

Thanks a pantload, Chets...

In my experience, Hornfans are some of the best in the country when it comes to being classy about injuries to opponents. The few exceptions to the rule on the other thread are noted, but in general this board has an excellent 'wish him the best' attitude towards injuries of rival college athletes. I have my gripes about Hornfans, but reveling in injuries of opponents is not among them.

I didn't think Granger's foul on the previous play was a big deal. I don't blame the refs for throwing the flag, but it wasn't that bad either.

Likewise, I don't think the Washington players' triple-team and 'giving him the business' was that big of a deal.

Far worse 'cheap' personal fouls happen by nearly every team in nearly every game.

It is just unfortunate that Granger got injured.

The whole episode was really 'ho-hum' except for two unusual things: 1. The Washington players were really frustrated and initiated a ruckus following Granger's foul. 2. Granger got injured.

The refs didn't have to flag Granger (many times players get away with far worse.) And they could have flagged Washington's players. But in neither case was it an egregious foul. Neither play was a big deal, IMO. It was just the commotion and the subsequent injury back-to-back that cause people to overreact to the actual plays at hand.
