I'm across the street at their armadillo palace. Should I eat here? They also have a seafood place close by our waitress just said.

I went there for a rehearsal dinner once -- it was barely passable. Unfortunately, I don't know Houston at all, so I couldn't tell you where else to try.

the barbecue is good, it isn't hill country good but is very consistent. The sides are very good.

The seafood resteraunt is excellent!

"Barely passable".... well, aren't you a high-falutin' critic!

I thought it was pretty piss-poor, which is surprising because the other Goode Co places are really good. Certainly many better BBQ places in Houston.

Goode & Co. makes a great Pecan Pie. And they send it out to other cities/states.

I went to Goode & Co. back in April of 1994. It was good enough back then. I'm not an expert on the subject, but it was good enough for my liking.

it is overrated but they do a few things really well...the brisket is good occassionally, ribs, chicken and quail are pretty good..sausage and turkey bad.

Here's the deal, their brisket isn't Luling/Lockhart quality, but at these they actually smoke their meat in smokers using wood, which is much more than a lot of other places in Houston can say -- who "smoke" their meat in the kitchen using electric smokers.

The brisket IMO is not good. The ribs can be good. The chicken IMO is the best in town. The potato salad is excellent and the beans are pretty good. The duck is very good. The sauce is SHITE!!!!!!! The sausage is okay at best.

Hornfans BBQ divas are out in full force.

"There's only one good barbeque establishment in the state of Texas! You wouldn't know about it. It's at the top of a mesa 200 miles west of Austin and it only opens during full moons. They only have brisket and will ask you to leave if you request sauce."

WTH is wrong with blackened fish and pico. Seems like a match made in heaven. You guys need to broaden your pallette and it's not like Blackening seafood has been around forever.
