Good Roy Williams still possible for Cowboys?

To say he wasn't good in college is dumb, or forgetful. He also played an entirely different position in college, some sort of "Rover" position that old Stoopsy made for him. It allowed him to play the run almost exclusively. Not so much anymore. Now he is a true SS and actually has to drop back in zone and run with receivers. Unfortunately, he is too small to play LB.....so, ya, problem.

He's too small to play OLB in a 3-4. He could probably play OLB in a 4-3.

Unfortunately for Roy (and the Cowboys), is the fact that he can't tackle anymore either. The guy just doesn't wrap up. I doubt he'd be a good LB at this point. Its not just that his weaknesses have been exposed the last few years, I honestly believe he has regressed as a player.

That's a good point. He at least could lay some people out....now he isn't even doing that.

Roy's coverage skills have always been average to bad.

But he could blitz well and hit like a truck.

Now when he blitzes, he runs into the FB or OL and stops. And when hits, he bounces off.

IMO, he has lost the desire for the fight. Don't know if it was the big contract or one too many big hits.
