Neither one of them is in the right here. But of the two one is trying to make a better life for their family and one is trying to **** over someone that is trying to make a better life for their family.
The world needs more of one kind and less of the other.
She's a scum bag. But so is every other person who exploits illegals.
This woman saw an opportunity. She wanted three months free rent in exchange for not calling immigration. Most of the time illegals just grab their ankles. This guy refused and now he's paying the price. Worse, the media attention this story is getting will just lead to more exploitation. Very sad.
I agree with the sentiment of many other posters. If she was stranded in the dessert and I drove by in an Ozarka truck, I wouldn't throw a bottle of water at her (or to her) as I drove by.
All of these people out of work and all these Car Makers are going to be needing jobs instead of unemployment, oh wait we just extended their benefits.....
Texas has never recognized the common law rule requiring restraint of cattle, by tethering or enclosure, unless the county has adopted a stock law requiring the restraint of livestock running at large on state or federal highways.
this women is severely mistaken, being a us citizen has nothing to do wit the ability to own property. just because he is illegal does not mean he cant by a home.
If there is any benefit to illegal immigration it is inextricably entwined with exploitation. To argue in favor of the former, or at least in favor of over-looking it, is to argue in favor of the latter.
This woman did what most people do in circumstances where their options are few and they have limited resources: she made the available play, i.e., she tried to lever him into doing what she wanted.
Is she scummy for ratting him out? I suppose, but the man is here illegally (if he is married why is he not a citizen through marriage? Id his wife an illegal, as well?). If you skirt the law expect, as he did, that you are going to take a fall eventually. I feel for him because he was trying to better his situation and that of his family, but he made his bed for the most part. She was trying to better her own situation, mind you, and his less-than-straight-forward dealings muddied the deal, so she tried to get him to unmuddy the situation and he tried to strong arm her. She strong armed back and now they both have less than they were hoping for. Seems just about fair.
The woman attempted to extort and blackmail the guy, who entered the U.S. without proper paperwork. Yeah, they're about equal.
Me, I'm just trying to assuage my white guy guilt level.
Doing business with illegals is risky.
Don't let people move into your house without a lease agreement.
And don't trust white folk if you are a illegal.
