ANyone played River PLace lately?

I played River Place in a scramble last week. The tees, fairways and rough are in very good condition. The greens are in mediocre to poor condition. They would have been OK on a $20 muni or something, but I don't understand how the rest of the course can be so great and lush and the greens are like that. I'd never played there before, and with greens matching the rest of the course, it would be one of the best I've played.

I shot 84 at Pebble Beach last week. I think that trumps all course reviews thus far suckas! It was a very calm cunny day with little wind. I had a great caddie who was absolutely fantastic on the putt reads. I only had 1 three putt the whole round, and I am not a good putter at all.

Played Teravista yesterday. That's a nice course, but the greens were in rotten shape -- nearly bare in spots.

Thanks for the headsup, I was getting ready to go to Teravista, I'll give them some time. Damn shame, too, their greens are usually vg --> exc.

ShadowGlen is in very good shape right now, played it last week. Played Crystal Falls before that, and it was in very good shape. The fairways are actually plush, so you don't get the concrete bounces you used to. Golf18austin.com has coupons for there for 24.95 with cart anytime. Good deal.

played circleC today - very nice shape. Greens could be mowed a bit closer, but they rolled very true. My only complaint was that we were basing our decisions off of the rate we saw at Golf512, but didn't realize that that wasn't the public rate. Thus, we paid more. Of course, that's my fault, not the golf courses.

On a side note, today was my first time out to CC since they've begun the "golf club at circle c" stuff. I really like the improvements. They really seem to be trying to cater to the family, and make the course/grounds a place to go. If that area can get some growth started out there in terms of homes and retail, that place could really take off.
