Ginsburg

So the Group that has been said to be source of the Handmaiden tale is People of Praise.
Barrett and her husband belong to is People of Hope
Newsweek started the lie and has declined to retract. Other DMC are still quoting to lying Newsweek 9 days later
Newsweek declines to retract anti-Catholic smear of Amy Coney Barrett
Ahhh....the ever popular "it's been reported in other outlets" defense. That is the game these days. One outlet does the initial lie and the rest parrot that, and then if ever called on it....they say....we're just reporting on "what's out there" . IMO, that's how we got gay marriage thrust on us. Circular reporting of false polling that indicated there was widespread support for this. By the time 15 outlets have repeated the same lie, it is now accepted as truth without direct verification or support.....e.g. Trump is a racist!

Hearings for Barrett start on 12 Oct, should be out of committee by the end of the week.

Then the accusations of her running a gang rape ring in high school over that next weekend, followed by a dingbat psychologist claiming Barrett tried to feel her up at a party in a year she can’t remember, in a town she can’t recall.

All interspersed with protesters who are given coveted audience tickets by Senate Democrats, hollering in the chamber and being dragged away during the hearings. Also lots of harpies in cosplay outfits.

By Monday we’ll have breathless reports that she had the orphans from Haiti kidnapped, and crying interviews from a Haitian paid to say they were torn from her loving arms.

Final vote scheduled for the 22.

After she is seated, the leftist majority will be reduced to 5-4. Roberts is the leader of that group, and while he was accused by the DC ruling class of being a rapist, you know Kauvanhan will vote the way they want to if needed, to attempt to crawl back into their good graces.

Huge if true. Somewhat surprised he's indicated things this early, as you never know what may come out of the hearings. Besides HICO's!

Manchin also voted for Kavanaugh and Gorsuch. He's a rarity nowadays. Most moderate Democrats are moderate on fiscal and national security issues but socially liberal. Manchin is moderate to somewhat liberal on fiscal issues and right-leaning on social issues. Frankly, he's kinda like the guy he replaced but without the awkward speech and the Klan hood (Byrd, not the placeholder who held the seat for a few months).

He did vote for them both - after the hearings were over, and the outcome was not in doubt. Neither of those has happened yet.

He only indicated his vote for Kav after 50+ votes had been lined up. He won't be the push over the top vote for any Republican bill, but he'll pile on after the deal is done.

He was up for re-election in 2018 (and barely won). He was going to vote For regardless.
