Gilbert stats thru 8 games

Rivals rating system is weighted heavy on their opinion of potential. That hasn't proven to be all that accurate in the past. Just remember Colt McCoy was not the top rated QB but who would you rather have than him leading your team right now?

Much of a QB's success in college will depend on where they choose to play, their QB coach, the offensive system, the team around them, their character, and their work ethic. All of those elements are difficult to predict when a kid is in high school and that's how a #15 ranked QB recruit can win the Heisman.

Hell, only two of those first 28 names do I even recognize.

Not only is order basically worthless, but so is most of the list.

Its not so amazing Colt was under rated, its amazing any rating gets close at all.

VY did.

"Not only was he not the top QB, he was not even close. He was the no. 15 QB in his class." That is pro style qbs only. If you look at all purpose qbs for 2005 you see (at your own)Perrilloux #1, Chase Daniel #6 Zac Robinson #10, and Casey Dick #13.

Gilbert needs to get his completion % up if he wants to have a shot at playing here.

And that one loose pass into the endzone has totally F'd up his TD to INT ratio.

How is he doing throughout the playoffs? He has had one hell of a regular season, hopefully he can keep it up through the playoffs.

Sorry. I know it has been some time since the last update. Lake Travis won their opening playoff game quite handily and are still alive to repeat as class 4A champs. Here are Gilbert's stats to date:

202 out of294 Passing (69%). 3336 Yards. 41 TD's. 2 INT's.
313 Rushing Yards on 50 Attempts (6.3 Yards per Rush). 9 Rushing TD's.

*I can't update the original post on the first page, so that is why I'm posting this far down on the thread.

garrett's numbers for the night:
23 of 24 (95.8%), 290 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT
17-72 yards (4.2 YPC) 3 TDs

cumulative to date:
225 of 318 (70.8%), 3626 yards, 43 TDs, 3 INT
67-385 yards (5.7 YPC) 12 TDs

cade mccrary had 6 catches for 98 and caught both of the td throws to give him 67-1340 (20 YPC) 19 TDs to date. isn't he hardee's son? i know hardee is part of the longhorn foundation after his lengthy coaching career with us. any hope cade might walk on like some of the coaches' sons have? that would be very sweet.

here's a first-hand account. apparently garrett's performance was transcendent:

good to hear mention of paden kelley, too. i thought paden looked great the once i saw him.

ketch's front page headline story is a report on the game and garrett's performance.

so every one of his passes was caught by somebody in that game? geez. when that happens, how can you be down a couple of touchdowns?

lake travis scored, gilbert to mccrary, just before halftime, i gather, to make it 21-14.

"The drive covered 78 yards in just over a minute."

I saw his game last night. He's an absolute stud out there.

The LB made an absolutely phenomenal play on GG's interception -- he was running full speed with his back to the LOS, spun at the perfect time and threw up his hand to tip the ball up into the air.

It wasn't a bad throw or read at all.

In fact, I don't remember him making a bad throw or read all night. He has a cannon that's accurate, he's not afraid to run, and he looks like a real leader out there.

He's a bona fide stud.
