There is no comparison for delta force. Only a fraction of soldiers are are good enough for special forces. Only a fraction of special forces are good enough for delta force.

I'd disagree, SEALs get close, and Seal Team 6 was every bit as incredible a force as Delta.

I also shouldn't have used equal. I should have said Recon Marines are to Force Recon as Rangers are to Delta? or SF.

I'm just trying to figure out how to compare the two.

I was not very impressed with the first episode. If the intent was to show the boring side of war they did a good job of it. The previews from next week look to be a little bit more exciting. I like most HBO shows and Im holding out hope that this ends up as one of the better ones.

A member of my family is SOF out of Ft. Bragg. We believe he is Delta. Don't know for sure because he's not sayin'. We know he was in Afghanistan because his mother saw his picture in a magazine and recognized him despite the beard and turban. T. has also been to Iraq-or somewhere-8 times.
My impression is that Delta would eat recon for lunch and leave no trace of ever being there.
