Game Three vs. K-State

The hitting machine is back, as Weis blasts another homer against the wind to right. An infield single for Walsh follows, keep it going, we need all we can get.

Weiss immediately gets the run back with a solo HR. Horns up 7-5. Walsh follows with an infield single. Marlowe up, probably bunting.

Marlow can't get the bunt down and K's and here comes another pitcher for K-State. The battle of attrition continues.

Walsh steals 2nd and Silver doubles him home now 8-5 Horns. Yet another baserunning mistake as Silver picked off.
This is certainly not a baseball clinic going on out there today.

That's all we get and Knebel I guess will come out and try to gut out the save. Horns lead 8-5 bottom of nine.

Knebel with the perfect inning and that's the game Horns win and take the series 8-5 today and two games to one.

Another good road series win. We are going to wear out our pitching though if this keeps up. Really need one more arm that we can rely on.

I am not sure there is a consistent third arm on this team so sundays will be hitting fests. Fortunately the offense seems to have found itself so the horns will be competitive in those type of games. Good win today to take the series and keep momentum going in the right direction as we head into April and the heart of the conference schedule.

If anyone had offered me a 5-1 conference record playing on the road when we were sitting 2-5 I would have been all over it. Good job boys, see you at the Disch this Wednesday.

Ground ball to short and the man on second goes and a man picked off second are not displays of sound base running skills. Why the boneheaded moves??? Drives me nuts.

Well one reason could be until the last couple of weeks they hadn't been on base enough to remember what running the bases was like.
