Game Over (Westerman Update)

He was a Texas commit, opened it back up with all the uncertainty here, and then now cancels visit and calls an announcement. I just can't see how it would be possibly to say he is sticking with Texas. He already was with Texas and still considering Texas, That wouldn't be enough reason to call an announcement, just to say he's staying with Texas. Plus, there is no reason not to go ahead and take the visit unless you were eliminating the choice.

Life goes on without this kid, and hopefully we made a solid choice for OL coach. But I will say he did look like one hell of a run blocker than finished blocks until the whistle with aggression. Been missing that around here for a while.

just kidding, seriously, its his life and he will have to live with the Curse O' Mack like all the rest of those poor kids have had to. Too bad really, as those kids all end saying that they wonder how it would have turned out better if they had stuck with their pledge and gone to Texas. Oh well.

Seriously, who got away at the last minute like this that we wish had stuck to their commitment and come to Texas? What the hell is happening to cause these kids to have such a rough time after leading Mack on, then blowing him off like that? Either way, it seems to work out for Texas in the end.

Good luck to him whatever he decides. I don't want him cursed. I don't want to pretend he's a bad character. I don't want to get all huffy that he's not coming here.

This recruit's name keeps popping up in speculation about the OL coaching hire as though keeping him is a key factor in the decision about whom we hire. I suspect that that speculation is backwards. I truly doubt Mack weighed this recruit's preference in his OL coach search. He's just one player.

If he comes here, welcome to UT. If he doesn't, good luck. We and him will likely manage whether we get together or go separate ways.
