Texas going to the bullpen again, because Nebraska has put up some more runs.
Johnston scores on a wild pitch, Kline advances to second.
Belfonte walks
Kline out at third on wild pitch, Belfonte to second
Mort flies out, Belfonte to third
Opitz walks
Abeita 2 RBI double
Our pitchers are really scuffling. No one can get hitters out on a consistent basis. I am just hoping to avoid the brooms at this point. Maybe we'll get a decent start in at least one of the other games...
Thomas came in for Texas, and the Huskers kept scoring.
Belfonte double, RBI
Belfonte advances to third on wild pitch
Mort pops up to second
Opitz walks
Abeita single, RBI

Now in the bottom of 8, and it's a laugher. 14-4 Huskers.
Defense was ugly. Several passed balls for stolen bases and a score. 3 errors. Dropped a pop that would have been an error but saved by the infield fly rule, a few other plays that were not ruled errors but were bad defense.
The worst play was a bunt that someone (Clark? maybe) screamed to let go foul. It was a weak bunt and would have easily been an out. It stayed fair. Single. Boos all around.
Kyle Russell still struggles at the plate but had a badass catch in LF.
Clark had some bright spots (threw out 2 stealing) but had 3 passed balls resulting in a run and a few stolen bases. His bat was good.
The defensive changes I guess need some time to gel. They all looked a little uneasy out there. I wonder if they think they are playing for their jobs now?
UGH. What a horrible game. Hit batters, walks, errors, misplayed balls. A parade of largely ineffective pitchers.
Not what we have gotten used to watching for so many years from the Horns. Nothing to feel good about.
This team could round into form by the end of the year, but right now they would go nowhere in a playoff situation.
Right now Nebraska and Missouri are looking pretty strong with great pitching. UT could turn it around but right now they do not look like a team capable of reaching Omaha. Inconsistent especially pitching and poor defense, that is why they are 4 - 3 in the Big 12.
wow, I know huskers are good this season, but what in the wide-wide world of sports isa goin' on augie? Last night I heard the score and at first thought it must be wrong.... 14-4?
