Future Schedule

We have added 3 future home games
-- Louisiana-Monroe (2022)
-- Wyoming (2023)
-- Texas State (2026) - sort of interesting that we have never played them
Actually we have played Texas State or at least the school that is now called Texas State, back in the 1930s or so when TSU was Southwest Texas State Teachers College. Texas won 36-0 or something like that.

Looks like a good mix

FUTURE TEXAS NON-CONFERENCE OPPONENTS
2020
2021
2022
2023
2024
2025
2026
2027
Ha! This year we play nothing but acronyms for non-conference opponents. Might as well throw in UCLA while we’re at it.

Bummer, no return home game for UTEP?

UTEP needs / wants to visit DKR to get the BIG check... Horns very rarely recruit from the El Paso area, so they don't really need the exposure there... plus the check for playing at UTEP would be puny!

Yep. Legend is that LBJ stole his first election there in student government.

"When he was at Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos, he stole his first student council election by packing the room not only with his eligible supporters but also with an ineligible voter, and he won by one vote."

I think we're coming pretty close to what I'd like to see with our non-conference scheduling:

1 national powerhouse
1 so-so school in fertile out of state recruiting territory for us (Louisiana, Florida, California, Arizona).
1 cupcake (hopefully also in said fertile OOS recruiting turf).

It looks like we'll be favoring the in-state cupcakes a lot, especially the other UT-system schools like UTEP and UTSA (charity to keep the $ within the system...?). If we stay within Texas for the cupcake game, then I like Rice (on the road). It's good to play in front of the Houston area recruits. But otherwise, it's not bad scheduling at all.

I agree that 1 cupcake, 1 Regional/Recruiting area and 1 national powerhouse. I would add that the first two should be DKR only and Home n Home only with the national powerhouse school. SEC is smart to have a minimum 8 home games each year.
