It's a fun one in Ft. Worth.

After 1.5 innings it's tied at 1, with the rain coming down. TCU had a chance to take the lead with 2 outs, a runner on 3rd and a squeeze play/bunt laid down. The Pepperdine 3rd baseman scooped the ball and tossed it from his glove to the catcher who tagged the runner out at the plate. Heading to the bottom of the 2nd.

Edit: I was off by an inning...

Pepperdine hits a 1 out single to left field. Alexander strikes out Jefferson, the # 9 batter. Back to the top of the order. Caruso crushes a 2 run homer over the left field wall.

Davidson follows that up with a double to right with 2 outs.

Visit to the mound and TCU bullpen warming.

2 up, 2 down for TCU in the 8th. Pepperdine going to the pin-- righty (Cahndler Blanchard) vs. righty (Kevin Cron who homered earlier).

Deep fly to center. Hit off of the top of the wall. Langlois stops at 3rd. Brown to 2nd with a double. Two on with no outs.

Semi-deep fly to right. Langlois tags from 3rd & scores. Right fielder goes to 3rd in an attempt to get Brown, to no avail.

Barnett pops up to shortstop. 2 outs with runner on 3rd.

Moyer swings at strike 3 to end the inning.

5-4 Pepperdine. 3 outs left for TCU.

Suiter at the plate, not a good bunter, check-swing for foul ball, looks at strike 2 then chops a high-hopper to short. he beats out the throw to 1st.

Runners on 1st & 2nd, no outs.

I thought I wanted TCU to win, but for some reason I find myself gently pulling for Pepperdine.

5-4 with TCU rallying so we will see.

Fitzgeralds fails at bunt attempt, bringing count to 0-2. 1 ball & 2 consecutive fouls, 1 ball outside. count is 2-2...Fitzgerald ropes one down the right field line. 1 run is in. Runners now on 2nd & 3rd. Still no outs.

TCU goes back to the squeeze play, which didn't work earlier in the game. This time it does. Run scores. 1-3 out.

Runner advances to 3rd. 6-5 TCU with 2 outs.

Pepperdine should have loaded the bases and set up the double play and force at the plate.

That might have prevented the squeeze play too.
TCU might not have tried it with the bases loaded.

2nd consecutive PH (Yamaguchi, who's also a lefty, at bat. Sacrifice bunt. Ross advances to 2nd. 1 out with Caruso up (2-4 with triple & HR).
