Hey guys, this is actually Statalyzer but I'm in a lab with limited cookie privileges or something, and I can't log in.

A girl I know from high school (we both played basketball at the same time there before I came to UT; she's still in high school), got this massive headache yesterday. Pretty soon she was aching all over with "the worst pain of my life" and her parents took her the doctor. He couldn't figure it out but suspected Meningitis, so he sent her to Brackenridge. By then she was in so much pain that she couldn't even walk. Apparently it likely is Bacterial Meningitis, and last I heard she was in the ICU and they were doing a spinal tap to determine if that's really what it is. I read that the chances of death from Bac. Meningitis is actually pretty small but it often causes brain damage. Her name is Haley. Please pray for her and her family.

Wow...it turned out to be some sort of staph infection instead of meningitis, but it was even worse than I originally thought...her blood pressure dropped to something over 20, and while they were trying to get that stabilized, her kidneys started failing. The doctor said last night that when she arrived at the hospital Thursday evening she was dying.

Now she's out of the ICU and off the blood pressure medication, her blood pressure and kidneys are fine, and her fever is gone, and the infection (which was growing when she got there) has quit spreading. She still has some pain and aching muscles and could be in the hospital another 3-7 days, but according to her "It is wonderful, she is so much better now."

Thank you all so much for your prayers, it's been an amazing and possibly miraculous recovery.

EDIT: I just got back from visiting her in the hospital, and it's really amazing. She doesn't even seem sick.
