This is the final nail in Fran's coffin, dammit. Nothing short of winning the Big XII will save his ***. All I'm hoping for now is that a few of these "VIP" emails were kept & will surface.

And I'm guessing the $Bill Byrne is just pissed that he wasn't getting his cut of the proceeds. I wonder if he even touches this one in next week's Wednesdays w/ $Bill column.
 
Think about this. By pretty much any standard Fran's recruiting while he's been at aggy has been an overall failure. Can you imagine what it would be like after the HS coaches, players and their parents discover that Fran will provide pillow about the players talk to high dollar donors? He'd be lucky to sign a 2 star punter from Harper.

And I've gotta agree w/ the poster who theorized that this story is only breaking because one (or many) of the subscribers leaked this because they want Franny gone. Aggy will keep secret for generations the location of where they buried Reveille's pile of dookie. No way something like this gets out unless someone wants it out.
 
After the original post, I was ready to joke about Aggy and go write "Texas" on the "Let's get it started" thread, but after all of the great points above, (privacy, betting), I think y'all are right. If this is true, he's toast and it won't be after the season.

They won't have to pay him, which means they won't have to keep him.

The Aggy collective might chew it over through the weekend, but by this time next week, I'll be surprised if he isn't gone.

Looks like Aggy lucked out.

I'm really having trouble believing Byrne didn't know about this. If he really didn't, he should fire Fran today.

Brent Z. is a good guy and a good writer. He went to A&M, wrote for the BCS Eagle for a while, and still lives in BCS while writing for the SAEN. He's not an Aggie homer, and he doesn't have an axe to grind.
 
Amazing the number of posters on TexAgs who don't think this is a big deal. I think worse than the craziness of releasing injury information to a select few is the talk about the shortcomings of players. How can Fran possibly walk into the locker room and face the WR's he called out, or the rest of the team for that matter?

Can anyone imagine Mack (1) running down his players in a private newsletter, and (2) being so cheap as to have to tin cup alumni to fund a website when making > $2 million per year?
 
Wow that is pretty amazing. But if you really think about it, is this just more of the same from Fran. We're talking about the same guy who didn't even tell his players at bama that he was leaving...he's obviously not the caring type.

He's gotta be fired right? Hell, even if this is just an excuse to fire him for his performance. If he lives through this then he's got some serious dirt on mr. bill. We're talking photos involving all types of farm animals.
 
It's only a HIPAA violation if he's discussing something health related. Otherwise it's simply douchebaggery. Of the highest degree.

$1200 a week. Per booster that's dumb enough to pay for it... that could be HUGE $$ for the agroid program.

how could he be so staggeringly stupid? there is no way he didn't know that would violate HIPAA. no way. i wonder if he's going to cry when he gets canned?
 
Not only could Fran be in trouble, but so could A&M. This could be seen as 'lack of institutional control'. Fran is providing insider information that is 1) illegal due to its medical nature and 2) could be used as an upper hand in gambling.
 
If he discussed academic situations, that would create a FERPA violation as well...

This guy is in deep ****..
