First, it is an axiom that politicians, all politicians, lie. Their constituents demand it.

As for the two politicians in the same family, do you mean the Bushes? Probably not. The Pauls? If so, then you must love the "truth" of Ron Paul who says that anybody listening (not speaking, but listening) to speech inciting "kicking *** against the US govt" ( to paraphrase) should be deported.

That's very truthy of Ron Paul.

Were the Dems all over the Rockefeller drug laws and having the sentencing for crack cocaine be 3x the length of power cocaine? How about being for all those 3-strikes laws?

I don't know. My guess is that these laws appealed more to the conservatives, though.
