For You Memorabilia Collectors (autographs)

After 2 1/2 years, Vince Young is FINALLY doing a public autograph show.

He is signing for TRISTAR, along with Jamaal Charles and Limas Sweed.

Show was just announced and is June 27-29. Tickets go on sale mid-April on the TRISTAR website.

Now lets just hope they arent crazy with their price. It was $100 for premium items after the Rose Bowl. I really hope they dont go up to $150, but they might.

And save all the "paying kids for their autographs" talk....this is for collectors who care, not for those who think it is stupid.

I just hope they don't rush you through the line like a pack of sardines like they did when Vince was there in Jan. 2006. You really couldn't say anything to him and defintely couldn't take a picture with him. Pretty disappointing after paying $100 per autograph.

I can read, but I just don't care who you say this thread is for.

I can tell from your response that you've already taken plenty of flak for paying other men to write their names on your things, so I'll leave it at that.

First, Ive paid for only a handful of signatures...

Second, actually no, ive never taken "flak", its actually quite opposite. The reason for the simple request is the fact that there are always big cool individuals like you derailing threads.

Thousands upon thousands of people join me in line every year at the UT fan appreciation day. Im damn proud of my collection, especially considering im only 25. And ill display it proudly until the day I die. For every person like you who wants to be big bad cool person on the internet, there are a ton who love and compliment what I have...including many posters on this board...so Ill leave it at that. Actually, Ill leave it at this...

Here is a small piece of my collection...

Ruby Soho,

I don't get it either. At the end of the South Regional practice at Reliant on Wednesday, Coach Barnes sent his team over to the stands to greet and sign autographs. Some adults charged the rail, with pen and paper in hand, to get autographs in front of kids.

Sad.

I get it completely. But I don't think I could ever amass even 10% of the **** you have if I tried. How much time and money has gone into your collection is the amazing part. I am jealous.

That collection was unbelieveable. You would have many big UT Donors pay some serious money to be able and display that in their office.

I see nothing wrong with paying money to have professional athletes autograph pictures, helmets or other sports memorabilia. Some people pay big bucks for stamps, others buy coins...to each his own, right? If I had more money I'd definitely have more autographs.

You have a really nice collection, Eric. Easily one of the best I've seen.

Thanks guys, its still a work in progress...It will probably take years before I am able to get it where I want it.

Took them to a framing shop, you can get them to do it at most mom & pop framing places, hobby lobby, michaels, etc...

But they didnt do a very good job. Knowing what I know now, I would take them to someone who does it as a specialty. There is some guy in Dallas that does unreal work for $350 per jersey. He does all the framing for Field of Dreams, Tristar, etc, and they turn around and charge you almost $600. So by going directly through him you get it much cheaper.

I eventually want to get all of my jerseys to look something like this:

But of course this is going to take a LONG time bc of the number of jerseys I have + the cost involved.

Dude, that is an INSANE collection!

How in the heck have you been able to get all that stuff and only be 25?

I'm not an autograph guy and don't understand it, but that's okay. What's unreal is your collection. It's so large, I'd almost say I think you're lying, but I know you're not. Damn that's a lot of jerseys, helmets, mags, etc. wow.

thanks, The display shelves are built into the house. My father is a custom home builder, so I have an advantage there.

The jerseys are custom framed by a framing shop. They sew the jersey onto a mat and frame it. You can get it done at hobby lobby, michaels, etc

my ricky williams jersey is better; but that's about it.

I'm so glad to hear about the VY signing b/c I have the Rose Bowl jersey that ive been waiting to get signed for 2 yrs now. Im also glad its tristar since i have some contacts there and can just mail them the jersey I have.

wow, very impressive. back home we have a game worn D.D. Lewis helmet along with an framed and autographed VY rose bowl picture. still catching up!

im not sure about 5 years ago, I think the first show I went to was 3 years ago...

But from what I remember they only charge return shipping.

hell, it might have even been 7+ yrs ago; had an ex that used to work there but that doesn't sound like a bad deal b/c you can save on the entry ticket.

My most recent UT collectible was a signed, 1983 Clemens UT baseball jersey. I should have waited till after the mitchell report and it would have been half the price i bet! Probably not though but I wonder how that's going to affect his ****.

Does anyone know a good place to get Jerseys framed in the Austin area? I had Michaels do my signed Campbell jersey and it ran about $250. I would like to do a custom VY but don't want to sell my first born.
