Sorry for the double thread - I tried to change the title of basket to bench and it wouldn't change - now all of a sudden it is changed.....

Who was the TALL girl sitting right behind the bench at today's A&M game. She was wearing a Longhorn shirt.

I sure hope she is a recruit/future player!

Thanks!

It was indeed Nikki Greene, 6 feet 5 inches and dressed in Longhorn everything. Stood during the Eyes of Texas and raised a hookem sign. GOOD SIGN!!!

Yes, thanks very much orange!

Does anyone have a link to sibyl's recruiting site? She's a Tennessee fan (I believe). I had it bookmarked, but it now says the page doesn't exist.

hopefully they can see what a great system the staff is laying the foundation for, are aware of who's coming in next season, the incredible development of ashley lindsey in the post, and where post players coming in to texas will be counted on to play major roles immediately. in short, hopefully they can see the big picture and where the program is headed.

Nikki Greene looks like she has already made up her mind.We need all 3 of them Nikki,Cokie, Kelsey. We are going to be tough in the next 1-2 years. We want even be able to remember the bad games we are having now, because we will look like a total different team. For the veterans on the team.Word of advise work on your game over the summer or you will not know what hit you when the next 2 seasons roll around. The girls coming in are bringing their A game because they want to start and win.And they will have passion and energy which really helps you to play at the level we need to be at.Right now everybody is playing like they are just going thru the motions. You can see everything on T.V.

remember, baylor was SO SURE they were going to get ogwumike, pope, and destinee hughes and they got NONE of them. i'm going to keep it real and just be hopeful.

like i've said before, there will be immediate voids to fill in the post for the 2009 recruiting class. i just hope we can land our in-state talent to fill those voids. if so, we'll be right back in the mix! there are some AWESOME post players in texas high schools right now. bone, reed, and greene are outstanding players, and sure would look good in burnt orange!!!

Baylor does not need any of those people now that they are getting Griner. She will put butts in seats. Kim is going to win all the major recruiting battles with Gail. We'll just get seconds.

I think that the recruiting battle between Mulkey and GG will be very interesting to watch. Mulkey has won a championship at every level and I am sure that players take that into consideration. Here's hoping that Gail brings us a Big 12 title soon and follows it up with an NC. Once she gets this team deep into the NCAA tournqment the floodgates will open up.

This is a great thing for the Big 12. We need to keep the local talent in the state instead of them going to other conferences.

I would never never ever underestimate Coach G. She will rebuild this program back to the elite. I have no doubts. JerWilliams - Maybe you should become a Baylor fan since you can't say anything positive and since Coach G will lose all the recruiting battles with Mulkey.

Griner is good. So is Bone, Reed and Greene. I saw Reed last weekend playing with only one healthy leg. She is an awesome player with a beautiful soft touch and alot of agility. She is very very physical as well. I like our chances all the way around. HOOKEM!!!

Great news on Nikki!

With Lauren Flores already committed, the big question is, "Will we have 3 or 4 total scholarships available in 2009?".

With Arriaran redshirting this season, she'll still be playing (hopefully) in 2009-10. Unless one of our 2005 signess (Boyd, Arriaran, Cortijo, or Williams) foregoes their 5th year of eligibility, we'll only have 3 total 'ships available for 2009, which means we won't have room for all 3 of Bone, Greene, and Reed, assuming they all want to come. Nice problem to have . . .

The thing that concerns me in the recruiting war between Mulkey and Coach G is Mulkey's resume as a player and a coach, and players surely look at that. She has won a title at every level (high school, college, Olympics), both as a player and a coach and if I'm not mistaken she won a national championship without a single high school All American on the roster. I hope these young players associate Coach G's success with her coaching abilities and not with Duke University.

True. Those recruits REALLY need to perform well because once Griner hits the floor at Baylor I have a feeling that she is going to have the Candace Parker effect where other players will want to play with her and give Baylor serious consideration. Next year is a critical year for the program.

indeed, griner is good player. but i have a feeling we're going to have a 2009 recruiting class that isn't exactly what people are going to refer to as chopped liver.

Keeping my fingers crossed there. We are still on the list for several of the top rated recruits for 2009. I think that if we can sign one of those top post players that the supporting cast will follow. Signing Bone or Reed would surely help.

I'm hoping for at least two of three among Bone, Reed, and Greene. I don't think the Horns can go wrong there.
