For all you Eli haters

I have taken a bit of grief on this board over the last few seasons for being a Giants fan, especially by you Poke fans. Eli has typically been the brunt of the jokes. So what do you think now? BTW, if you want to root for a former UT guy you have Aaron Ross a NCAA Champion and a Super Bowl Champion.

Still hate him, but he's definitely a MUCH better QB than he was the last couple of years. Still not a top end QB, but better than a bus driver.

23 TD's and 20 INT's in the regular season ain't gettin him to the pro bowl anytime soon but he does have a ring because his team got hot at the perfect time. can't argue with that

Can we just settle this neverending contest between NY and Boston to see who can have the most annoying fan bases by calling it a well-deserved tie?

I'm a Cowboys fan and Eli hater. More because of what he and daddy manning pulled with San Diego than because he's a rival team's QB. He was outstanding this post-season and I give him credit for leading his team to a championship, but lets not go rewriting history here. He was completely deserving of the criticism he received in the past.

Eli Manning might be the next Trent Dilfer. They both won a super bowl and both are pretty spare. Giants won't make the playoffs next year.

Eli owns Romo, just wanted to throw that out.

Eli Super Bowl MVP, Romo appeared in a Super Bowl ad with Justin Timberlake.

eli still sucks and the giants can eat a bag.

i was happy for ross and strahan.

i also rooted for the giants last night.

LL - I agree 100% about that part. If I were a football player, I'd absolutely let half the teams in the NFL know there's not a chance in hell I am going to play for them, so don't draft me.

He managed the game well, only had a few bad passes, and the interception was not his fault. 10 TD's/2 Int's in the playoffs are stellar numbers. He won when he needed to.

He's earned some degree of respect and has come into his own and no longer in Peyton's shadow

GO GIANTS!

Eli > Romo.

The Giants have a ring now because of their defense. Eli finally stopped sucking and had some good moments, but New York won their playoffs games because of their defensive line going absolutely crazy and disrupting all the offenses they played down the stretch. Congrats to Eli, but he should give up that silly MVP trophy to those on the other side of the ball.

Eli made two to three awful passes in that last drive. Two, i can think of, 1) one on the right sideline that went right thru the hands of the defender as was tippy toed on the sideline and 2) on the left sideline, a floater that went thru a defenders hands and somehow was almost caught by a Giant.

That being said, those are all "ifs". But those didn't look like throws of an evern remotely good quarterback.

LL: Great post.

He didn't want to play for San Diego. Where you work is a huge part of your lifestyle. I can't blame someone for using leverage to live in a city that they prefer.

Eli looked like 5 second old dogshit for the first 3 quarters before he got hotter in the 4th. Let's not get carried away and say he removed all doubts. He still spent the first 3/4 of the game looking like Corey Pullig throwing the ball.

Eli showed some big balls in the 4th. Even if you gave the armchair quarterbacks of hornfans his ability, I guarantee most would have found a way to **** their pants when he was one cool customer. Guy stepped up when it mattered in the clutch on the biggest stage, that's not Trent Dilfer, that's being the ******* man. On the throw to Tyree he wasn't going down when that defensive line was crushing down on him. He said **** it, I'm going to find a way to get this ball down the field. And he did, that's toughness. That's a winner. Wake me up when you guys start comparing him to people who earn championships, anything else is ridiculous

I am an Eli fan, but I hate the Giants. The only reason they won that game is their D kept them in it. Eli's shake and bake completion to Tyree was pretty clutch though.
