Flying Saucer Review

I have been to the Flying Saucer in Fort Worth, Houston, and now Charlotte. Great beer selection. They have a $2.50 any tap beer night. Find out when yours is, and hit it. It is a great opportunity to try some beers you otherwise might never see, and if they suck, for $2.50, just pour them out. The one in Fort Worth is in Sundance Square, and they have a band on the weekends, that livens the place up. Party on.....

We ended up partying in the apartments above the Flying Saucer in Houston with a guy that lived there. The gentleman was a stockbroker, and had his act together. What a great place to live!!

I finally made it over there last night, and I liked it quite a bit. Obviously they have tons of beers on tap and in bottles, and I'm not sure why some people are saying the atmosphere is lame? I thought it was fine.

Since both are "beer bars" it will obviously draw comparisons to the G-Man, and it's bigger so I suppose it doesn't have quite the intimate feel (though I'm not sure how intimate G-Man can be considered with 20-foot ceilings). And G-Man's outside biergarten is obviously a plus.

But still, I liked the Saucer and it's a nice alternative to the clusterF of parking downtown. They each have their place, and I'll be going back to the Saucer soon I'm sure.

$2.50 Tap night is Sunday night in Charlotte. In Austin it is Monday night, but on Sunday, they have all TEXAS pints for $2.50. Be there, Aloha.

Mr. Terrific got me thinking about Google Earthing the Triangle to see what it looks like from the air now days. I know that Google Earth often isn't very up to date, but they have the Triangle as a field. No Construction has been started at all. It was VERY odd to see it as a field.

Can I just take a second to say,,,,,, ABITA TURBODOG!!!

In my opinion, the best beer on the planet. But then, I like dark, sweet, chocolaty, delicious beers with not too much hop overlay. Party on.

I enjoy the San Antonio location. Just stopped by on Wed to get the "Burning Ring of Fire" glass for Valentines Day. Do they have the rewards system with the card to track the beers you have tried at the Austin location? May have to try to get by there the next time I'm in town .

Chico_SA and I stopped in there this wknd. Nice place. Parking has got to get pretty bad. Pretty nice patio.
