Fish in the microwave at work

I just got back from lunch and someone in the office area that I work in put fish in the microwave. It stinks to high heaven about 30 feet from the break area. I'm sure it reaks in the break area but I'm not going in there.

Do these people not realize how bad this stinks? What makes them think it is a good idea?

Sorry about that.

hey... at least it wasn't fish oil on a hot frying pan... that smells like ***... I don't how or why but it does and it's gross (unless you are playing a joke on someone and then it's funny as hell)

Ugh. Everybody should know that work etiquette dictates that you do not heat up fish to work. Its odor emanates through the entire office and lingers in the microwave for a long time afterwards. Anything heated up in a microwave after fish has been in there is going to smell fishy.

Any office that allows this practice will be floundering before too long. However, the chick who did this won't have to look too hard to find another job -- some other company will snapper up right away.

Maybe a grouper of her co-workers could talk to her, but she's porbably just tuna them out.

I had an employee bring in her own hot plate and warm fish up right at her cube. The whole area reaked for close to 3 hours.

I had a very blunt conversation with her about the matter, so it didn't get to be a habit.

Well, the whole office could take a vote on the matter, but they'd probably just end up with a bunch of hanging shads...

Someone did this at my school yesterday, and I said, "Holy mackerel! That stinks real bad!" And the smell made me eel.

It was a total shark to my system ...

It's enough to make almost anyone eel and is also a crappie thing for someone to do in a place trying to drum up business. If the person that did this thought it smelt good, they should probably go see a sturgeon about their nose.

She'll roe the day she put fish in the microwave. I'm sure her co-workers have done nothing but carp about it every single day since. She was probably just fishing for compliments on her cooking, anyway.

This really puts the personel manager in a real pickerel. Denying the worker her lunch time rights couldn't be done without some caviars. The company could be sued, she could be trawling for a lawsuit, and they could fall for it hook, line and sinker. This could be shad news, and you don't want to get in waters too deep, no of-fin-se meant.

They should scale back on accoutrements in the breakroom -- maybe take away the microwave if people can't respect the comfort of others. Yes, this situation is breaming with possiblitiies for lawsuits. The legal sharks will be all over it. You know the lawyers will take the bait.

If I'm herring you correctly, this sucker is getting roughy. The woman is a bullhead, and I would skate around this situation, as it is starting to smelt. I don't see a ray of hope, you have a tough problem to wrasse-l with, chum.
