Finals game 4

Awesome game.

I think the Lakers win game 5. The Celtics aren't as deep and have to be tired after that comeback. Also, it's good for ratings and wouldn't do to have the Lakers drop 2 of 3 at home. Celtics win game 6 to end the series.

As a big Lakes fan I must say that, when the better team wins, I can't complain. They choked a bit, but Boston just wrestled the game away and the Lakers couldn't take it back.

Boston has been the better team. Detroit was the better team last time the Lakes made the finals.

Boston can put four reasonable shooters on the floor and they will all play D with heart. The Lakes have been unable to match intensity, and have been unable to find multiple lineups that avoid major, exploitable matchups. That means Boston is the better team. Especially since they can play D and shoot.

If Odom was consistent and Gasol was not so incredibly timid when faced with Garnett (not an overpowering guy) or some of the other physical matchups, then the Lakers O would have more options and they would not go on these horrifying droughts. Boston needs those droughts to keep the LA defense on the run.

The Lakers O starts to falter and then grinds to a halt when they do a good job of latching onto Kobe early in the possession and the rest of the team starts to go cold or pass up shots. This has happened every game, primarily in the 3rd. That would suggest Rivers is making adjustments and sussing out LA's weaknesses.

I had believed Gasol would play more aggressively. He has been really disappointing. Odom was always a crap shoot. They are both crapping out in this series. Just not dependable.

Good post Buck. Matchups have been very key in this series. Phil is usually the grand master in changing lineups and exploiting lineups but his only answer so far has been to shuffle in guys left and right to no avail and leave Kobe on the court nearly the entire game. It looked to me like Kobe guarding Pierce may have been a mistake b/c it was Allen who hit the key buckets in the final 3-4 minutes that kept the Lakers at bay. I couldn't understand why Phil kept Farmar and Vujacic on the court so much when they were doing nothing offensively. Fisher seemed limited in minutes as well.

If Celts win this series, like it is looking at this point, then Pierce will likely get the MVP trophy but Allen was the MVP of this game.

Rivers is outcoaching Phil in this series.

Okay, I've come out of my jack daniels induced coma from last night.

Jesus christ, that was such a choke job. This was the most numb I have been after a loss in a long time.

Gotta give props to the Celtics though. They truly are the better team and their going to close this **** out in game 5.

KG came up with some clutch buckets down the stretch as well. I know he was DPOY, but his defense around the rim has been better than I expected. Then again, he has pretty much owned Pau throughout his career. Lucky for him there's no Bynum to contend with.

So, is this series going 4-1, just to ‘prove’ the NBA is not fixing series to go 7 games in order to make more money?

I hate to say it because I've never really liked the guy, but Ray Allen is my Finals MVP if the series ended today. You could make a case for any of the "Big Three", and at 2-0 you could have made a case for Rondo as well, but right now I think Ray is playing the best basketball overall of anybody in the Finals.

Posey has been huge, especially last night. He has repeatedly punished the Lakers for leaving him open behind the arc. His last three of the evening, a leaner when the Celts were up two, was the shot that turned the game into a race against time that the Lakes couldn't manage. That was amazingly clutch. Fisher then sank a long, rainbow 2 because he wasn't paying attention to his feet.

Big guys that can body up and hit 3's are extremely valuable. Posey could become the new Horry.

He's gotta do it a lot more often to become the next Horry. Right now nobody is Horry. Even Horry isn't Horry anymore.
