Finals game 4

At this point this series can go either way. I think the Lakers really do need to win games 4 and 5 in order to win this series. I just can't see them going back to Boston for games 6 and 7 and winning both of them...1 will be hard enough. LA hasn't lost at home since March I believe and they have to be favorites to win game 4.

I think Boston's injuries and age is catching up to them slightly. When their bench explodes they get a huge lift and that will be needed in game 4. Traveling from Bosto to LA and playing 2 days later I think caught up to them in game 3. They just weren't moving the same on defense, were reaching, and weren't driving to the basket like they did in game 2.

Boston's outside shooting has been stellar this series and in large part to Ray Allen who really is on fire right now. Kobe played alll of the 4th QTR in game 3 I believe as it was a must win for LA and we will see if that catches up to him a bit...I would expect to see Phil try and rest him if he can in game 4 at times, especially in the first half.

Each of the last 2 games Boston has had amazing 3rd QTR's but struggled in the 4th QTR's and let leads slip away. This is another sign of their endurance level. LA may be well served by pushing the ball up the court.

I would expect both teams to shoot better from the line and their poor FT shooting in game 3 was in large part due to being worn out after game 2 and traveling back to LA.

With a little rest and a change of strategy from Boston this should be a very good game.

The key for the lakers will be to see if Gasol and Odom can come back from the witness protection program and actually start contributing on the offensive end.

Those two were horrible in game 3. I think eventually though that the Lakers have to get it going on offense, and i think this is the game they do it.

Lakers win 102-94.

That bitching about traveling from coast to coast is just drivel. The reason they now have a 2-3-2 series is because back in the old days they were traveling on commercial flights and a 2-2-1-1-1 series meant the Lakers-Celtics were going coast to coast almost every other day. With the comfort of charter flights, and made to order seats and recliners, all those complaints (Doc and Phil to the contrary) ought to be flushed. As if 2 1/2 days of rest is not enough? Give me a break.

As much as I would like to see otherwise, i think the Lakers win tonight, however I thought they would win game 3 by 20.

The Lakers really haven't played well in a single game thus far, so you would expect to see a good game out of them eventually. Although Kobe was brilliant in the 4th in Game 3, he was average through the first 3 quarters. I still can't believe he missed all those FT's. He just can't do that. If this game ends up in the 80's like game 3 then Boston may steal it.

Gasol & Odom have both been horrible thus far, but pierce and Garnett matched their suckitude in game 3. i expect all of them to have better games.

My prediction still sits at Celtics in 7, but I think they take it in six.

I'm hoping that, after the refs favored Boston in Game 2 and then purposefully favored LA in Game 3 as a make-up, that things will actually be called evenly in this one.

LA is taking my advice and running up and down the court. Boston is too slow, old, and worn out right now to run with them.

looks like a different team.
they are HOT right now, so let's see if they can extend and sustain this lead.

Wow. 21 point lead after 1st QTR. They just said that was largest lead ever after 1st QTR in a finals game.

2-2. Celtics should rest their stars, regroup, and try to get game 5.

Geez, could kobe possible be any more of a whiner???

Good finish by LA. Celts made a run and cut it to 12 but LA battled back to be up 18 at half.

Big difference in this game so far is that LA is outrebounding Boston....by 10. Also has 11 more assists than Boston. Complete reverse of how they had been playing. Boston is still shooting a low% and now that is catching up to them getting outrebounded.

Ariza was huge. Phil needs to play him more.

Ray Allen just schools Kobe. I guess he gets to go to the bench and yell at his teammates again.

I cannot believe the Celtics game back. I agreed with hornpharmd & thought the Celtics were just worn out. Then the Lakers just quit hitting everything. The Lakers better pull this out or this is over.

If I were a Laker fan I would want to punch all of those Euros in the face. Some of the softest players I have ever seen.

That being said, way to lead your team Kobe.

Wow. You have to be shocked and amazed at that entire 2nd half. Shocked that LA would go so cold from the field scoring only 33 in 2nd half and amazed that Boston had a 57 point 2nd half in them after that tired, slow, and poor shooting 1st half. Yes that is a 24 point difference in that 2nd half.....hell a 27 point difference the last 3 QTR's.

LA may have very well just have lost their best shot at this series by losing that half. They could have had a bad 40 point half and still won by 1.

Well, I would say this series is over, but a 3-1 lead isn't that much better than a 24 point lead. That being said, I think it ends in 5.

I am gonna hive hornpharmd his credit. I know the last thing he wanted to do was post after a loss like that. i know if I was a Laker fan I would be on the verge of suicide.
