Feeding Boy Scouts in Amarillo?

Buck Naked: Yeah, the bus is a little odd to be riding. We were lucky on our first trek. Our hike into the Ponil Turnaround was awful. There was a crazy downpour the night before, and so much mud that we were skiing downhill. We flagged down a bus a little short of the turnaround and were absolutely elated.

I recall that one trek had crews packing over Baldy, going from Copper Park to Baldy Town(?). From what I recall, the hike from French Henry to Copper Park ('The Wall') was one of the most grueling hikes I've ever done.

kbrown: I stayed in Troop 80's place on the way to a scout camp in Colorado. It's a nice service the troop provides.

You can get around the consecutive year prohibition by establishing a Venture crew and have the Venture crew apply for treks.

Here is another cool place to stay. When i was younger troop 80 and the kwahadis were affilliated but have gone their own way now. The Kwahadi kiva is a really cool place and puts up travellers as well. If you have ever been to the Koshare Kiva in LaJunta Colo, you will be reminded of it.

I need to stop reading this thread. I haven't been backpacking in about 8 years and it is killing me. This is like salt in the wound!
