Favorite Stephen King Book

The Green Mile, with The Stand a close second.

It and Misery scared me the most.

I read The Green Mile in its initial serial form. It was cool/frustrating as hell reading each installment in a couple of hours, then waiting a month for the next one.

I'm a big King fan, and have read a good deal of most of his books.

My favorite has always been the Dark Tower series, followed closely by The Stand, and The Shining.

One book, though, that always gets overlooked, is one called, Gerald's Game. It was a story about a woman whose husband dies while they are playing a sex game, and she is tied to the bed. It was a very psychological type thriller. Very underrated, imo...

1) The Stand
2) The Green Mile
3) The Shining

I read The Green Mile in 1 sitting (obviously after it was put into book format).

I will second The Green Mile. I read that book when I was about 15 on an airplane trip across the Atlantic. I didn't want the plane to land.

'Salem's Lot is my personal favorite. Night Shift is a great collection of his short stories. The Dead Zone is very, very underrated. I think any fan of his should read On Writing.
