Please pray for my father. He has been in the hospital for two months now, and while his physical health is getting better, his mental health is getting worse. He has battled through many trials in the past eight weeks (renal failure, low blood pressure, stomach ulcers, inflamed intestines, compression fracture in his lower back), but now it seems like he is losing cognitive ability. He's not able to keep his train of thought even long enough to answer a question with more than three or four words. My father is a very talkative person, and now he just sits there in silence more often than not. His sister has Alzheimer's and I'm afraid that my father is slipping into that now also.
My Dad is the one who got me started on Longhorn football at a very early age. When I was 7 he took me to the Cotton Bowl to watch Earl run against Notre Dame. Even though we lost, I had a great time with my Dad that day that I will never forget. Even now, with his mind as unclear as it is, he always asks me how Texas is doing and when the next game is.
Please keep him and my family in your prayers. May God bless and keep you all.
