Father has been in the hospital for two months

Please pray for my father. He has been in the hospital for two months now, and while his physical health is getting better, his mental health is getting worse. He has battled through many trials in the past eight weeks (renal failure, low blood pressure, stomach ulcers, inflamed intestines, compression fracture in his lower back), but now it seems like he is losing cognitive ability. He's not able to keep his train of thought even long enough to answer a question with more than three or four words. My father is a very talkative person, and now he just sits there in silence more often than not. His sister has Alzheimer's and I'm afraid that my father is slipping into that now also.

My Dad is the one who got me started on Longhorn football at a very early age. When I was 7 he took me to the Cotton Bowl to watch Earl run against Notre Dame. Even though we lost, I had a great time with my Dad that day that I will never forget. Even now, with his mind as unclear as it is, he always asks me how Texas is doing and when the next game is.

Please keep him and my family in your prayers. May God bless and keep you all.

Prayers to you and your family.
This can not be easy to see someone once so full of life slip away from you this way. continue to talk to him and pray with him.

Got word from the doctors that his mental state might be caused by some medication that he used to be on (new doc took him off of it). I'm hopeful that is the source of the problem.

Please still keep him in your prayers, as well as my family. Thanks for all of your prayerful support. Hopefully I'll have some good news soon.

Prayers for you, your father, your family, and his doctors/nurses. Pray the Prayer of Jabez over him...it always calms me.

Many thanks for all the prayers guys. Can't tell you all how much they are appreciated.

Dad is getting his mental capacity back (it was the medication after all), but his physical health is worse. He now has a recurrance of shingles (very painful skin disorder that can be brought on by stress of being ill) and the possibility of fluid in the area around his lungs causing him chest pain.

It's been a real roller coaster ride with his health over the past few months, and he really needs a few things to start going right. Please keep the prayers coming, and know that you all will be in my prayers, thanking God for your faithfulness.
