Family Guy blows

The episode where Peter decides he wants to get in touch with his feminine side and starts nursing Stewie was one of the funniest things I have ever seen on TV, ever.

Family Guy might be funny, but it ain't genius.

Genius would require the jokes to actually be relevant to the storyline.

90% of the Family Guy jokes have nothing to do with what is actually going on.

If you took away every "remember that time" type of jokes from Family Guy, you'd have nothing.

it can be funny, but it gets old really fast.

Stewie: ooh, you've got some pie. Can I have a piece?
Brian: Uh, ok
Stewie: Hey, pass over some of that Cool wHip
Brian: What?
Stewie: Well, you put Cool wHip on pie.
Brian: It's Cool Whip
Stewie: That's what I said, Cool wHip
Brian: Cool Whip
Stewie: Cool wHip
Brian: Cool Whip
Stewie: Cool wHip
Brian: Why are you putting so much emphasis on the H?
Stewie: What are you talking about? I'm just saying Cool wHip
Brian: Say whip
Stewie: Whip
Brian: Now say Cool Whip
Stewie: Cool wHip
Brian: Cool Whip!
Stewie: Cool wHip
Brian: Cool Whip!
Stewie: Cool wHip
Brian: You're eating HAIR!

The thing I like about Family Guy is that there are so many allusions. You have to be fairly knowledgeable to appreciate that stuff.

The first two seasons, and parts of the third, were awesome.

The "random" stuff happened in the action (like the Kool-Aid guy, or the sun dropping two scoops of car-sized raisins on Spooner street), rather than being some "like that time I..." or some celebrity reference, half of which most people won't get.

Stewie was evil. Now he's effeminate. I think the writers thought "You know what would be funny? Showing an effeminate side of Stewie." And yes, it's funny when it's a hidden facet of his personality. Now it's his whole personality, and it's not funny. I miss Stewie trying to kill Lois. And since when is he basically best friends with Brian?

Meg was always a weak character, but now she's only there as a whipping boy. That got old after two episodes.

The creepy old guy, Ollie (IS GON' RAIN!!), the chicken that fights to the death with Peter, other characters like that were all great for their one-time random appearance. Making them regular characters is a mistake. They are way too one-dimensional.

Every episode lately:
Lois: "But PEEETTAAAAHHH!!!!"
Peter: "Don't worry Lois, I got a great idear."
Stewie: "Brian, I hate you! No, you're really my best friend. Help me do some effeminate thing."
Brian: <nonchalant repartee, drinks>
<random flashback>
<Peter's plan doesn't work>
<random celebrity reference>
<everyone hates Meg>
<song and dance number>
<everything works out alright in the end, despite Peter's worst efforts>

Family Guy hasn't recovered from being cancelled after season three, and it's only been going downhill. Watching the first few seasons still cracks me up.

After South Park made fun of Family Guy, I realized how the jokes had nothing to do with the plot and I couldn't watch it anymore. The first three seasons: Great. The rest: eh.

I have to disagree with the original poster, family guy is great.

Like the episode where Meg pretends she is a single mother with stewie as her son at her waitressing job. Then stewie gets hooked on crack. Or the one where meg gets madly in love with brian after taking him to the prom. Or where brian becomes a drug sniffing dog and gets hooked on cocaine.

How can you not like this.....???

Kidding me? FG had a Conway Twitty clip tonight. That can't be topped by some Babs Streisand or Saddam head on an animated character in SP.
