F USC

One thing I don't fully appreciate until each time I watch this game is just how sadly horid a job Keith Jackson did. Fouts wasn't great, but KJ had really lost it by then and it showed badly.

Nonetheless I love this game and that Texas team and still feel the excitement I did back then every time I see it.

watch that slow motion replay and you'll see that Pino actually made the PAT = bad call, but now that's water under the dam. Hey Trojans, Who's the Heisman?

Watching this game sober and closer to the TV, I noticed some pretty questionable officiating, particularly around USC offensive holds not being called. Crazy how pissed I got watching that in a game that I knew we won.

So I was in LA for the Fourth of July. My uncle and I went to stock up on booze for our BBQ. (I took 15 pounds of fajitas due to the fact no one in california even knows WTF a fajita is, but that's another post.)

Anyway, every time I am out there I have to advertise by wearing the burnt orange as I am sure most of you do too. Well, this one vendor was giving wine samples and he noticed my shirt. He was like, 'Awe man, that STILL hurts.' I gave him the polite smile and kept walking and thought to myself a) it SHOULD hurt and b) what the heck am I doing in the wine section?

Loved the crap out of that game, was blessed to have seen it in person and still cry like a school girl to this day during the last parts of the fourth quarter.

I was standing directly behind the extra point kick in Row 25 on the right goalpost. meaning the top of the post was right about my eye level.

I didnt even think twice about the kick, I saw it go on the inside of the upright, thought it was easily good and didnt give it a second thought like "wow that was close" and was ******* STUNNED when the ref gave the "no good" sign. Honestly thought it was a joke.

I will swear to my dying day that kick was on the inside corner of the goalpost.

Of course, it turns out that kick didnt matter, and in fact, allowed superman to get one final snap in a Texas Uniform sneaking in for the 2 point conversion....
