This WaPo opinion piece is exactly the kind of trash that typically gets spouted while citing conditions from 60 years ago and not providing any specific policy or practice that is inherent today. notice that the actual biased rules and practices cited are from the '60's. If you follow the link to the study this person cites (2018.11_Brookings-Metro_Devaluation-Assets-Black-Neighborhoods_final.pdf) you'll see that they want to account for a lot of things that impact House Value but conveniently leave off crime rate in their analysis. Ask any realtor and "safe neighborhood" is almost always #1 or #2 on a homebuyers list of requirements.

It’s always about crime. I would live in the most blighted neighborhood to get a low cost house to fix up if it wasn’t for crime. Schools are first or second as well.

Statistics have shown that early developmental reading to children has a HUGE impact on their academic achievement. below is an example of 2nd grade reading. This is not rocket science. 90% of the black community COULD do this, but they don't. Many of them completely abdicate their parental responsibilities to the state/school system and then blame the school when their child falls behind. And then ask for extra programs and funding to do what they should have been doing at home all along.

That story makes no sense. It doesn't tell us how Liam identifies. It almost certainly misuses pronouns for both Ernest and Liam. And if the pronouns are correct then the author is at minimum guilty of perpetuating the patriarchal dominant society that we are trying to get rid of.

No wonder our schoolchildren are so messed up.

Funny thing about that article (actually from The Root) is that it uses that data as evidence of systemic racism rather than acknowledging that black kids in the same schools as white kids perform SIGNIFICANTLY lower. Same teacher, same supplies, same tables, same chairs, same books....but dramatically different results. Hmmmmmm, I wonder what it could be? maybe it is the variable outside of the school systems control....the kids' parents and/or home environment.

Disney says it's a fake picture, but a Latina playing Snow White is definitely true. Bob Iger is so busy cutting costs and considering sales, why doesn't he do the obvious and mandate kids movies be woke-free?

Also, the cultural appropriation point is spot on. Take a story clearly about Europeans and change it to be diverse is good. Take a story about Asians or Africans and make it white is bad. Ever see a Vikings home game? You've got blacks acting like Vikings (the historical people not just the football team) in the stadium. No one cares, but have some dudes act like American Indians at a Washington football game or Cleveland baseball game, and the world goes mad.
