Every time I watch Derrick Williams...

True, but I feel like JC could be for us what DW is for PSU, a game breaker who gets touches and makes a big impact, but doesn't really affect anyone elses touches.
 
Thats what Ramonce should have been doing for the past 2 years, he did it to some extent in 2005 but he would have been on another level 2006 and 2007(had he stayed)
 
his pure speed isn't the issue...it's his hesitation. he doesn't seem like he knows what he wants to do with the ball, which i'm not sure is what you meant by "want to." a perfect example was a play against piggy where he rolled out to his left to see a field of green and stopped to pitter patter while looking for a receiver before he tried to take off. a 6 or 7 yard gain could have been 50, if he hadn't danced around looking for a pass that wasn't there.
 
Dw is a freak. Jc is not, or at least he hasn't shown it at ut. And williams has been doing stuff like this for 3 yrs now, an injury laden 3 year period to be sure, but when healthy the guy is a freak.

Dw basically saved paternos job, he was such a boost to joepa's 'street cred.' There are stories about joepa basically calling him a savior during the rough stretches before he arrived on campus.

Until chiles does things akin to his youtube videos, I don't think its possible to use him in the same way dw was used.
 
From what I’ve seen from Chiles, he's not the same type athlete as Williams and it really isn't even close. Not elite fast, not elusive, not fluid and certainly not a QB. Dude should be at safety or something IMO. What a waste of time and a huge gamble having him as the second string QB of the #5 team in the country. Disaster waiting to happen should Colt go down.

Honestly, if Chiles had to take over the season from this point forward, what do you all think our record would end up being? IMO, we lose to OU, Missouri, Tech and OSU (we couldn't keep up with their scoring). We would be competitive with Kansas and CU, but I’d call it a toss up. We'd beat Baylor and A&M because they'd both have a hard time scoring on us.

UT should never be in this position. We're basically a Colt injury from finishing in the middle of the pack in the Big 12. That's unacceptable.
 
It obviously doesn't matter, but I honestly believe if we had RT in 2006 we win either the KSU or aTm games and play in the CCG.
 
Agree on the speed, by looking at his tapes from HS I thought Chiles was a legit mid 4.5. I remember seeing Williams and had no doubt about his jets. I wouldn't take Chiles in a foot race against him that's for sure
