Enough of the rivalry hatred already

For some time now I have been thinking about all the hatred and ugliness among fans of competing universities. For me it has come to the point where it just cheapens and degrades my enjoyment of the game of football. We can support our favorite teams with all the usual enthusiasm, but why not check the rivalry baggage at the stadium gate. It has become a detriment to the game, in my opinion.

Longhorns, Sooners, Aggies... whatever. We're all fans and we all have our reasons for supporting the program of our choice. I say it's time to put aside the personal animosities, grow up and enjoy our favorite sport as a brotherhood of fans. Perhaps even, dare I say it, as friends. OU sucks.

Um, most of us have aggies that are friends. I even have a ...gasp..ou friend. It's all good natured, except when you want the opposing players, coaches, and fans to be swallowed by the sarlac pit. Which is quite often when dealing with both ou and a&m.

"Sucks" is the last name of that university up in Norman, and aggy would have to matter more for me to hate them. I don't get the point about this post. aggy is actually excellent comic relief, and okie's very important for those people who need a degree in trailer park management.

i've been reading hornfans for a while but haven't posted that much. my first thought at this, "is this serious?". do you not have ou/aggy friends you call after we win another one? i do think some ppl get way out of control, and 90% of the time it seems to be aggy.
