Phil's act just redistributed the calls to everyone else on OKC's roster, as they got to the line more than the Lakers, and made a higher percentage.
Minus the Golden State/Dallas debacle (and even that one's debatable), young teams that haven't been to the playoffs just don't beat seasoned veteran one-seeds. The NBA has the most predictable playoffs in terms of who gets out of the conference semifinals, and OKC was not going to be one of those teams, even if they could manage a miraculous upset of the Lakers.
