Hey folks. Our recruiting analyst Jeff Howe just talked to San Antonio Sam Houston DT Quincy Russell and he is commit No. 19 for the Horns' 2011 class. Russell, who was offered at UT's first junior day back on Feb. 13 and who attended yesterday's Spring Game, is the No. 41-ranked prospect on the Inside Texas 2011 Top 100.

Not much Prop...he's basically a DE rather than DT, and he's good enough that we'll take him if/when he wants to pull the trigger on a verbal to us, no matter who else is in the fold.
 
a 290 lb DT in HS would play DE in college? I have to believe he is going to get even bigger. Sure sounds like an interior line prospect to me.
 
Top 2 DTs in state.

#1 Desmond Jackson - dominant pass rusher who will be a 5 star. He can play right away.

#2 Quincy Russell - more raw and with a bigger frame. I see this kid redshirting.
 
that really pisses me off. we slow play anderson because of this guy, and he backs out after a day? he should have a deadline, and we should full court reed and if he commits, close up shop on the DL.
 
i'm also surprised that akina said that green was the #1 target at RB...i thought that would be brown.

then again he might just be saying that to gain favor with the coach.
