I've never heard of a "meter maid" (nice sexist comment) making an illegal traffic stop, conducting an illegal search, planting evidence, abusing handcuffed citizens, stealing from the evidence room, raping a custodial prisoner, committing murder .............should I mention looking the other way (or out right covering up) when their fellow officers do these things?

Since the "doors are unlocked" obviously rerefences some of my comments ... It's the education of our populous and our economic prosperity that protects me, not the police presence. That's a no brainer.

I would say the we deal with bad cops, doctors, etc better than any other country.

I dare any of you non believers to go to China as a citizen, bad mouth the handling of the Olympics and see what happens to you.

If the government had control of policing, health care, etc they would just sweep your opinion under the rug and do anything necessary to any citizen to make sure they look good. At least here we can voice our opinions and make things better with public opinion no matter how bad you think things are.

The problem here is that most people don't give a **** enough to make things happen. Most just give up at the first sign of adversity, blame someone else and hope the government steps in.
