Do you have a class ring?

Mac had a high-school ring. He valued it. When he graduated UT, I bought him a college ring. He valued that more.

I wore my mom's class ring my senior year of highschool. I didn't get a UT ring, because I figured I would get a ring for medical school.

I didn't get a ring for medical school, because we couldn't afford it.

I got an anniversary ring, and a family ring when our second daughter was born. But now, I kind of miss having a ring to mark my education.

The Army only lets you wear a wedding set (all the rings you want on your left ring finger) and one ring on the right. So it isn't like I really have room for something other than the ring with my kids birthstones.

Do you think I just want something....bigger....or is it really that i am sorry I have no class ring for all my years in school?

Never had one for high school nor college. I never understood the point. I know where I went, and that's all that matters.

I had a high school class ring, that I only wore about a month after graduation. When I graduated from UT, I really didn't want a traditional class ring, because I didn't want the same thing to happen, in terms of how long I wore it. Plus, I felt that "class rings" looked good on older men, but not women as they get older. So, I ended up getting the ladies version of this ring, and having my year of graduation engraved on one side panel, and BBA engraved on the other. I'll be 50 this year, still wear it pretty frequently, and have never regretted my choice.

Have a UT ring. Wore it for the first 5 years I graduated, havent worn it since.

My father has his class of '72 West Point ring. His right ring finger has literally grown 2 small bone spurs around the ring and he cant ever take it off.

Hey, if you want one get one. Be proud; we're Texas! Even if you decide not to wear it down the line, it will be a personal treasure. I wore my dad's USNA ring til I MBAed. Then I decided I wanted my own. My mom has my T rings and will never surrender them.

Yep. It's in my wife's jewelry box. I hate wearing the stuff. A watch and my wedding band is it and I take my wedding band off when I walk in the door.

I have a HS and a UT ring. Never really wore the HS one. I wear my UT one every day. But I don't sleep with it, or shower with it, or work in the yard or on the car with it. Everywhere else, yes.

Like the prom I had a feeling that either ring would be a waste of money for me and it would never be worn. So I did not get a ring and to this day have never regretted it.

I can see where it means something to some people and why they would wear it. I am not one of those people though. But enjoy it which I am sure y'all do.

I am also not one to go to HS reunions.

Yup - USAFA, 1968. Have my wedding ring spot-tacked to it (to keep them from turning in different directions). Take it off to work in the shop or yard. Also take it off to work out or play golf.

When I was flying in USAF, the last item on my preflight checklist before getting into the aircraft was to take my rings off (flight glove would not fit over the ring) and put them into my left pocket - reversed the steps after landing and deplaning.

I graduated in 1999 and by then UT had switched to the single-design of the class rings. From a distance they look like the aggy rings.

I used to wear mine all the time, but I quit wearing it after I got sick of aggy walking up to me and asking me "what year are you?". I would tell them I graduated from Texas, and they would smirk and make some dumbass comment about UT stealing A&M's "tradition".

Our HS rings cost twice as much as the entire evening of prom. My brothers have rings and I will be a spectacle of ridicule if I don't order mine; but they are ********, f them.

My wife and I both have UT class rings that we wear just about everyday to work. I usually take mine off when I get home and don't put it on until the next day. My father-in-law is also a UT grad and he's wearing is UT ring everytime I see him.

I'm indifferent about whether someone wants a class ring or not. I know a bunch of folks that have one and a bunch of others that don't.

I graduated in '93 before the official UT rings. During my jr. year, I received a coin-style UT seal ring. Several of my friends had similar rings with the seal encircled with diamonds like these: www.mastercraft-jewelry.com/ut.htm

Mine doesn't have diamonds, but a gold braid around the seal. I don't wear it everyday, but I wear it often. I like it because it doesn't look like a class ring, but when people ask about it I can proudly identify it as such.

I've worn my class ring nearly every day since 1969. The Aggies didn't invent wearing them. If seeing a UT class ring makes you think of A. & M., then I don't know what to tell you.

have, and wear both. High school ring in not tradtional - is a marquis shaped solitaire of my birthstone with hs and year enrgaved on the band. UT ring is on left, and will not be replaced until there's an engagement/wedding band.

I have both a high school and Texas ring. I wore the HS ring all through my senior year of HS and for about three months afterward. I put it away when I started attending Texas.

I got my Texas ring in my junior year and this was back when you had several choices. I chose one that was a little non-traditional, but now I wish I'd gotten the traditional one with the Tower on one side and Bevo with the ropes encircling his horns on the other.

I've just had to quit wearing my college ring recently because, with my weight loss, it threatens to fall off. But I always enjoyed wearing it here in College Station West (Temple) because it pinks aggy, who think they are the only ones who deserve to have class rings.

no high school, no UT, no law school.

i am not much for jewelry. i wear my wedding band and that is it.
