I think players should be allowed to play immediately but at the same time it made no sense to think she would be eligible immediately. I also think if your head coach got fired or stepped down for whatever reason you shouldn’t have to sit out a year. The NCAA remains mysterious as ever. I thought Littleton had some extenuating circumstances, not necessarily reflecting badly either on her or on the University of Texas. I would not have been disturbed if she had been given a waiver.
Absolutely. I think the Jessica Shepherd immediate wavier has been throwing folks off ever since it happened. The ncaa needs to come up with criteria for immediate waivers because there’s no way Shepherd should’ve been allowed to play right away. An then they turn around and deny waivers for players that had much better cases.Dawn can’t catch a break with the NCAA when it comes to transfers. IIRC, she was publicly less than pleased when they approved the waiver for Jessica Shepard (ND) the same day they denied Tea Cooper.
Unless there are other circumstances, I think she falls in the same category as UConn's Evina Westbrook (head coach at previous school was fired). UConn fans aren't hopeful last time I checked.Hopefully Ortiz’s waiver to play will come quickly now!!
Inclined to agree primarily based on timeline. If Destiny's has already been denied, appealed by SC, and denied again then I'd guess Karisma's initial request has been denied, appealed by Texas and currently waiting on that result. If so, I doubt Karisma sees the court this season because the NCAA is 2 things consistently: petty and unwilling to reverse a bad decision (unless their existence is in jeopardy - e.g. athlete likeness).Unless there are other circumstances, I think she falls in the same category as UConn's Evina Westbrook (head coach at previous school was fired). The 1 'major' WBB program on that list that has had players granted waivers is Louisville and that is more likely a result of where the players came from and those circumstances. UCONN, Oregon, Texas...still waiting.FYI, scorecard of how appeals have been going

So, if you compare two schools: Louisville and Georgia Tech it's interesting. The 1 'major' WBB program on that list that has had players granted waivers is Louisville and that is more likely a result of where the players came from and those circumstances. UCONN, Oregon, Texas...still waiting.
The bigger issue at Georgia Tech was the allegations of player mistreatment/abuse by the previous coach. I personally think they make most of their decisions by dice roll - if it lands on a 1-5 then approve, else deny but this is the die they use:So, if you compare two schools: Louisville and Georgia Tech it's interesting.
Two very active players left Georgia Tech. One was even ACC player of the year. But they get a pass because of a coaching change? (Nell Fortner!)
The second one, one going from K-State to Georgia Tech sorta makes sense. She went from UC-Santa Barbara, after one active year, and redshirted her transfer year at K-State. So to make her sit out another year at Georgia Tech...that was just common sense compassion.
Sometimes I wonder if how things get decided depends on whose desk the paperwork landed on?
