Didn't see this posted anywhere, my apologies if so:

CBS Sportsline writer Dennis Dodd released his Pre-Spring Top 10 this morning:

2 Oklahoma 11-3 Sept. 6 vs. Cincinnati
3 USC 11-2 Aug. 30 at Virginia
4 Ohio State 11-2 Aug. 30 vs. Youngstown St.
5 Missouri 12-2 Aug. 30 vs. Illinois
6 Florida 9-4 Aug. 30 vs. Hawaii
7 Kansas 12-1 Aug. 30 vs. Florida Int'l
8 Texas 10-3 Aug. 30 vs. Florida Atlantic
9 LSU 12-2 Aug. 30 vs. North Texas
10 West Virginia 11-2 Sept. 6 vs. Auburn

So we have 3 potential pre-season top 10 teams on the schedule. One at home, one on the road, and one in Dallas.

I think I would be happy with 2-1...

Can somebody here help me out...?

How can oklahoma look so bad and poorly coached in the Fiesta Bowl, lose their 3 best defensive players, and Malcom Kelly to the NFL draft, and still be considered a top 2 contender?

I just don't get it....

good grief how many times do I have to say this?

What OU does in their bowl games HAS ABSOLUTELY ZERO BEARING ON HOW THEY DO IN THE REGULAR SEASON!!!!!!

LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN:

WHAT OU DOES IN THE BOWL GAME HAS ABSOLUTELY ZERO RELEVANCE TO THE REGULAR SEASON!!!!

When bowl season comes around, you can absolutely go on record that Stoops is going to get punked and lose his bowl game by 50 points, and that will be perfectly valid based on previous trends.

Every year OU loses thier bowl game and hornfans go ape **** over it, predicting a losing season, only to have it turn around and slap them in the face with another OU Big 12 Championship.

The way OU preps for bowl games is seriously bizarre and subpar, but it has NOTHING to do with preseason prep and in-season game prep which explains why there is such a discrepancy between the two.

They just are not the 2nd best team in the country.
are they good, yeah they are but they have some serious losses that they will have to replace. They have to find a WR to replace Kelly on O and have ?marks at DB and LB. OL and RB are bad ***.

I can tell you right now SC will not come close to winning a NC. They will not play in the NC game, zero chance.

2007 was yet another failure of a season and still it wasn't enough for Pete make any changes. He's content to micromanage everything and remain surrounded by his yes men homegrown coaches.

There is no program that has wasted more talent than USC under Pete Carroll. Look for it to continue....the most talented team in the nation that looks like crap 3/4 of the season and loses to bad football teams.

SC = 10-2 U now. Yippee!

The Big 12 South plays 3 teams from the North 2 years and then the next 2 years the other 3 teams, and vice versa. Its the best way to do it. The SEC has 2 consistent teams from the opposite side and rotates 1 every 2 years. I like the big 12 way much better. i think it is the best way to do it.

Too many teams??? what? really?. 12 teams is not too many teams.

Try getting a conf title game pac 10.

SEC may consistently be the top conf and Big 12 has had a couple of down years but you are telling me the Pac 10 is consistently in the top 3 among conferences, no chance.

SC's far from my favorite team, but I have to give them their props when it comes to scheduling. Their OOC slates consistently have big names year after year. I'd love for more schools to take notice & follow suit, because those games, along w/ the bowls (essentially more OOC's) are my favorite ones of the entire year.

Um, the supposed "sucky" Pac-10 had several highly ranked teams last year ... USC, ASU, Oregon. They weren't all that weak last year. I'd say they were probably the 3rd best conference last year.
