Democrats are insane about Cain

So ole Ken Starr really opened up Pandora's box, so to speak, didn't he? It's never going to end now. Any dalliance will be campaign fodder for the next hundred years. It's too bad, because it shouldn't have been an issue to anyone except immediate family-none of it. But you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

When the time comes for critical budget negotiations to try to keep the country from going bankrupt, the community agitator is tweeting. Real leaders want no part of the fray.
 
I like Herman Cain. He has a nice resume. However, his off the cuff remarks are going to get him killed politically in the long run. For a conservative to be successful that have to be outstanding communicators.
 
His hopes are dead. His gradual remembrance of the events that took place have scuttled him. He migrated from "I don't recall that taking place" to "I seem to remember 2 or 3 months salary as a payment" to "there's a difference between settlement and..." to "yes, they paid them a year's salary as settlement" to "I remember they had performance and behavior problems with those people".

I'm no barrister, but I'd think once he spoke of their real/unreal HR issues in the press he voids the confidentiality agreement they had.

The people that want to blame the Democrats for this one need only to look as far away as the GOP. One of their pollsters witnessed the occurrence and spoke of it on KTOK in OKC. They had him quoted on either Colbert or Stewart.

It was funny that he also said China was a threat what with their recent nuclear emergence. You know, since 1964.
 
If a school board or city council were interviewing an attractive candidate for superintendent or town manager should they be interested to know that a previous employer had settled two sexual harassment claims based on his behavior? Would the fact the one included a year's salary of $35K be relevant? Maybe such claims should not preclude hiring, but anybody representing me should expect the candidate in an interview to be knowledgeable, consistent, and believable delivering an exculpating explanation. If the board or council caught him lyin', any subsequent explanations that included known or discoverable facts should be irrelevant to a failed candidacy. Should we expect less from a serious candidate for President?

I live in the the 'bubs. Dishonesty doesn't play well here among liberals or conservatives. We live in the Lewisville ISD, where the schools are great. Local elections are non-partisan and values, not race figure into election and personnel decisions. I may be more liberal than the average Denton County resident or Hornfans poster, but on issues like valuing integrity, hard work, honesty, excellence in doing your job and reflecting community values in operation of schools and local government, I'm right in the middle of the mainstream here. A black woman leads the local school board, a black man is Town Manager in Flower Mound and among the last three mayors in Highland Village one was black and one was Hispanic. The woman representing Lewisville in the Denton County Commissioners Court is black. All have been judged on the content of their character and came out with high grades.

I live in Highland Village, well aware of Denton County. I would say that I am average or to the right of most Denton County residents.

Anyway, while at lunch I was thinking, why are we penalizing Herman Cain for being a bad liar. The guy has a problem not telling the truth, unlike some more famous liar's and or decievers:

Ted Kennedy, Gary Hart, John Edwards, Bill Clinton to just name a few.

So Herman can't lie as well as these guys, should we punish him for not being able to lie as well as some of these abusers of power?
 
I didn't lie as well as some of my high school classmates who got away with mroe crap than I did. Didn't hold much weight when I talked about it with Mom and Dad. the voters are another matter. They forgave David Vitter, but I don't think Larry Craig could have survived the electorate. Anthony Weiner hadn't a prayer.
