Democratic Pollsters Urge Obama Not To Run

Democratic pollsters Patrick Caddell and Doug Schoen have written an article in the WSJ urging Barack Obama to stand down so that another Democrat candidate can take up the mantle and make this upcoming campaign about how to solve the critical issues that America currently faces, rather than about who is to blame and about the personal interests of Barack Obama. They believe that Hillary Clinton should be drafted to replace him and that it is not too late to do all of this.

They make a compelling case. However, Obama is such a narcissist that he seemingly cannot not be bothered with America's needs here. It appears that in his mind, this race is all about him.

In any case, it is an interesting article.

Mr. Caddell served as a pollster for President Jimmy Carter. Mr. Schoen, who served as a pollster for President Bill Clinton, is author of "Hopelessly Divided: The New Crisis in American Politics and What It Means for 2012 and Beyond," forthcoming from Rowman and Littlefield.

They want Bill's wife, Hillary to run instead of Obama? What a surprise given their backgrounds.

As to Schoen

I don't think Mictex is shootiing the messenger, rather just pointing out that the man whos statistical analysis is part of the article seems to be doing really flawed analysis of statistics eslewhere.
That said, I think Obama stepping out of the way for Hillary would be good for the country and the fear she throws into the Republican Party would be awfully entertaining over the next few months.

This (Hillary replacing Barry) will never happen. Never in a million years would the Democrats kill their most consistent (95%) constituency.

The democrats should not replace Obama--that makes no sense. He's got the solid 44% or so who will definitely vote for him, and can pick up the other 7% from negatives of the republican candidate and/or the strange wish of many people to have a different party in the presidency than in Congress. Like it or not, their best play is to stay the course.

Now, what Matthews wanted was more action and ideas, which would probably be a good idea for the dems--and maybe for the country, depending on the ideas, but I think Obama's weak point is that he is now seeing things just as a candidate, and he can do all that next summer just as effectively as starting now.

Instead of posting some crud about faux's "democratic pollsters", the repubs should first figure out which of the clowns they're gonna nominate:

- the serial adulterer and lobbyist who wants to privatize social security

or

- the empty suit who is the originator of "obamacare"

Are you really pimping Obama's foreign policy?

He's alienated half our allies.
Encouraged our enemies.
Rode the back of the Armed Forces by taking credit for Osama's hit.
Cowered to China at every stop.
Pissed off EU leaders by trying lecture them about spending and solvency.
Pissed of Netanyahu with the kind of remark a 5 year-old might make.
Played down his role with Libya until the tide turned then put himself at the forefront after Qaddafi was taken out.
Fled Iraq after failing to guarantee that US soldiers would be given immunity by the Iraqi government.
Iran is closer to getting a nuke. His answer is more sanctions which have worked wonderfully thus far.
Screws our own economy by refusing to open up oil reserves and back the pipeline from Canada WHILE assisting Brazil's oil industry.

All I see is him unable to act like a leader until it appears as if something might work then he jumps all over it with his chin held high.

Obama's foreign Policy is currently ranked worse than Jimmy Carter's, not really hard to do much better.

Great job with the Russians, NOT.
Great job in Eastern Eurpoe, NOT.
Great job in Africa, NOT.
Great Job with the Chinese, NOT.
Pissed off the British, multiple times.
Pissed off the Israeli's, multiple times.
Taking Credit for the Libya and Middel Eastern situation, this is tuning into a whoops with no way to blame Bush.

He got Osama Bin Laden, who had already been cornered for what 6 years? Hang your hat on that one buddy!!

Why doesn't he go after Iran? Show your leadership? His wife does better with the military than he does, and least they can't tell when she is lying to their face!!

The Tea Party was voted in because a bunch of supposedly conservative Democrats sided with Pelosi without reading the Healthcare Bill.
