Dear tough guys,

I am talking about the the guys sitting behind my friend and his 8 year old son in section 31 next to the Wyoming band. You see, I gave him my tickets because he was a Wyoming alum and his son is becoming a big football fan. They wore Wyoming gear to show support for their team. I told him it would be no big deal as UT fans treat all visitors well. Well Tough Guys, you proved me wrong! It was awesome to hear that you were drunk when you arrived and continued to drink throughout the game. Even better, I hear you began to talk **** to my friend and shoved him and his 8 YEAR OLD SON!! Freaking Bad Asses!!! It was ok, they left early to give more room for your aura of awesomeness. Again, great way to show class and claim the title of biggest douches in the stadium!

NB,

That's really sad, particularly given how well the Cowboy fans treated us in Laramie. I still communicate with some of them I met there.

Every team has them, except aggy of course. Sorry to hear your friend had to deal with those 2 classless "fans".

Why would any Wyoming fan get pissed about the outcome? Did they really come here thinking there would be any other outcome? They should have been happy about the lead at the end of the first quarter.

Vol, WTF are you talking abt? He never said his friend was pissed or expected a different outcome.

He and his 8 yr old were treated like **** by some drunk ********.

Is that okay with you? Sounds like it is.

If this happened as you say it did and I have no
reason to believe it didn't. Did no one in the crowd
do anything to stop it or have the drunks removed.
There must have been many people around to witness this bad behavior.

I find that almost as bad as the bad behavior itself.
Aren't there ways to contact the authorities at DKR
or at least with a crowd this large have some people around say or do something. It looks like to
me there had to be a way for a better outcome than the abused party having to leave early because of this.

Two years ago I had a drunk kicked out of my section before 2 minutes had run off the game clock in the 1st quarter. You should do the same at the next game

If someone actually shoved an 8-year-old kid and nobody's *** got kicked as a result, you've got a bunch of losers sitting around you...

Funny, but I seem to recall a plethora of posts over the years about how great it is to go to the games with a buzz on, complete with braggadocio posts on how to sneak booze into the games. I am assuming that those posting disgust at the behavior of fans in this current post are not members of the 'games are for drinking' crowd.

Let's hope this friend and his son soon forget - and forgive.

No need for this kind of ******** at DKR. If I witnessed that behavior toward a visiting or opposing fan I would have yelled at the ******** to stop and if that didn't work I would have personally gone and brought security up to escort them away.

I sit in the old folks section with foundation tickets and have had the same neighbors for 10-30 years. Never see stuff like that in the stadium. Have seen it on the street.

A fair number of students, mostly male, show up drunk and drink throughout the game and talk like they are at a WWE event as participants.

Notify the ushers and they are gone in almost any stadium in America.

While it's improved somewhat in recent years, the empty-seat situation is the same we see every year at the Texas/OU game, only it's sometime mid-way through the first quarter when the students and your 'recent grads that are $100,000 in debt' show up in time to participate in that ultimate ridiculous activity of booing the OU band at halftime. As I approach advanced old-fartism I'm more and more put out with the lack of 'class' shown by fans of all schools. Unfortunately, Texas has its share.

I can't remember the number off the top of my head, but on both bottom corners of Godzillatron there is a number to text if there is a fan problem in the stands, as well as security at each section doorway. If your friends were physically touched and verbally abused, they could have had the offenders removed immediately.

I've seen tons of people removed out of Section 103 for a lot less over the past 20 years.

I think the current system has its benefits over the annual auction. By allowing a ‘locked in’ donation you are removing much of the cost elasticity of good season vs. bad season. For instance, this season my wife and I had a nice improvement in seat location for a minimal increase in donation. We took a chance and it paid off. However, if every year was a pure auction, in 2006 we would probably sit in the upper level based on our current donation.

By introducing pure auction, you would allow very rich business owners access to the best seats during seasons that are “favorable”. Do you think last minute high bidders are the ones that will come early and stay late?

Finally, as for the geezers that pay $100 a year since the 70’s for their seats; good for them! They are 65+ years old and have been fans for 40 years. I don’t think they are any less of a fan because they leave before the end of a game. They obviously didn’t leave their seats through the Akers, McWilliams, and Mackovic years. I plan on holding onto our seats as long as possible. When I am in my upper 60’s and 70’s, I too will probably show up after my Luby’s dinner at 5PM and be in bed before 9PM. That just what old people do and I hope people do not think I’m less of a fan when I do.

Finally I’m sure everybody has the perfect solution for increasing LHF revenues. However, the current staff can still point at the scoreboard.

While I am all for Supply and Demand, when those folks including me were looking for tickets, part of the Supply and Demand deal was, as long as I paid this amount I would be guarnteed renewal of my tickets. The Rule of Supply and Demand was used originally to determine the amount of the donation. It is called loyalty and keeping your word to people that committed to the University and accepted the committement.

I pay $500/year and sit on the goal line, that was the going rate in 1996, going into the Big XII. After 1996 my friends were at $1500/year in the same area. Good timing on my part and I make a committement every year and I expect the University to live up to their committment.

Notre Dame has gone back on their committment twice since 1964, and my Aunt couldn't afford the first one, so my brother took over the tickets, she could change the name on them once, same at Texas. My brother was asked to pay over $20,000/year for some of the worst tickets at Notre Dame. He refused, they came back to him a couple years ago saying he could get his tickets back for $2500/year, he said no thanks, screw me once....

It is called loyalty and living up to your word, that is what the Longhorn Foundation is doing with all those folks. Respect would be another thing that could be taken away for "those" people.
