Dallas or OKC?

The Dallas defense is concerning. Part of it is certainly the OKC offense, but I just don't see a lot of effort out of the Mavs on defense. I think they bought into the hype, which is the last thing any team with the history of the Dallas Mavericks should do. Tyson Chandler said after the game that "we took these boys lightly." Getting this close again may not happen for a long time. Dallas should not be taking any team lightly in the playoffs. Ever.

I didn't buy the Mavs in five any more than I did the weary Thunder theory. I do think the Mavs will probably split in OKC and I can easily see this going seven. But what do I know? lol

The Thunder won 2 from LA last year didn't they? I won't be surprised if they get 2 this year from Dallas. I expect the Mavs to get home-court back either Saturday or Monday and then win in Dallas to go up 3-2.

The thunder took the blows from Dallas in game and kept the game close despite Dirk's best game possibly ever. Then in game 2 theyvtake down Dallas in Dallas and use mostly their bench in the 4th to do it. If I am a Mavs fan I am getting really worried right now. This thunder Team is not rolling over like LA did.

It's remarkable how the Thunder are doing it. They've got three reliable scorers, no post game, and rolled out this lineup in the last minute of the 4th quarter of a Western Conf. Finals road game:

Durant - 22 years old
Harden - 21
Ibaka - 21
Maynor - 23
Cook - 24

Their coach is 45 years old, speaks in cliches, and had zero head coaching experience before taking over a team that won 3 games at Christmas after relocating to a brand new city. Most of their talent has been developed within the organization. Their GM is 33. Their fans create a rabid, collegiate home court advantage. Most of the Western Conf. powers are getting older while OKC is 1-2 years ahead of schedule. They are making the NBA fun to watch for the casual fan, and I hope they sustain it for the next 6-10 years.

Memo to Mavs Defense: Take away Westbrook's 10 of 30 and the rest of the team is shooting 56%.

Hook'em!!!

The Thunder rely too much on one-on-one basketball, while the Mavericks play true team offense. As great as Durant is, and as great as Westbrook is capable of being, that lack of cohesive offense is ultimately going to be the reason Dallas wins a close series.

Also, Kendrick Perkins seems to have studied at the Kevin Garnett school of fake toughness.

Mavs really aren't shooting well. Just OKC is in a total funk.

Mavs playing lazy lazy bball right now and will let OKC back in if they can hit anything. Just standing around jacking up jump shots and not posting or going to the rim.
