CWS ticket advice

We're headed to Omaha next Friday & it'll be our 1st CWS experience. I'm needing ticket advice. I saw packets of 10 general admission tickets are $85 (5500 GA tickets/game). I'm not wanting to pay $50+/ticket for reserved seats (3 of us) and we would like to view a bunch of games. GA sounds like the way to go. Scalpers? Any advice from the experienced?

Yeah, don't buy GA. You'll spend hours in line waiting to maybe get in, maybe having to stand all game. I've always had luck going to the game and buying extra seats off the locals for face value.

Opening game is always a tougher ticket. Demand reduces greatly after first 2 rounds. With south Carolina and LSU already out tickets theoretically should be cheaper. General admission is completely fine to use after the first couple of days.

I was wanting to take my dad as a father's day gift. I looked quickly on expedia.com for flight and hotel and WOW they were expensive! I haven't tried booking separately.

I don't even know when I should take him. I guess the first games since there's no guarantee that they'll advance. Any other tips?

Try booking flights to KC or Des Moines. Former is easy 3 hour drive if you like grain silos for scenery and latter not bad either friends say. At this point, hotels a matter of dumb luck on priceline but with LSU out who knows? By all means, go to first weekend games when all 8 schools come in with high hopes, good cheer & mirth, excepting aggy on rare occasions

We're making the road trip up there. As far as lodging, the hotel prices are through the roof for a multi night stay. We found awesome choices viaThe Link It's folks who rent out the extra rooms in their homes, condos, etc. We've used the website before when staying in NYC, San Fran, Chicago, Destin, etc. It also allows previous guests to give rate their stays & hosts.
