CWS Game 1: 'Horns vs Gators

Had a bad feeling all day about this one and even when Horns jumped out 3-0 couldnt shake it.

Just a bad performance all the way around tonight by pitchers and hitters. But for three gifts by the Gators and the ump on a steal that looked like an out this is an even worse blow out.

Ahh well the Horns seem to play best when facing elimination and they face their sixth elimination game Monday afternoon with Carolina. With Cole and Stafford still on track this wont be the last heard from the Horns in Omaha.

This is getting ugly with two on for gators in bottom of the 8th with no outs. As Augie said it is good hitting against good pitching tonight. Looks like good hitting won.

Anyone have a guess how we'll match up against Carolina on Monday?

Even if we win the next two I don't see us beating Florida nor Vanderbilt twice to make it to the championship series. Good luck Horns!

Tough road ahead for the Horns.
Disappointing pitching tonight. We probably did enough offensively, but the pitching failed us. Hard to explain Youngmann's struggles. He was way off tonight. The catcher couldn't catch several pitches, and he was lucky to catch several others. Some defensive gaffes, too.
The umpire had a small strike zone, but was generally consistent. When we missed, it was way out, not close.
We played poorly, all the way around. Can't expect to win playing that way.
We've bounced back throughout the playoffs, but this will be tough. It can be done, though.

Augie needs to either retire or hire a hitting coach who teaches our players how to hit the ball to the opposite field, instead of bunting all ******* practice.

In the CWS, pitching has to be perfect and we must get timely hitting... or we are DOOMED!

With very little offense this was going to be a hard series from the get-go. However if you would have told me Texas would score 4 runs against Florida I would have taken that for a win.

Getting to the CWS should have been all that was expected by this team.
