fly out to left ends inning.

Carolina adds run now lead 3-0.

Three outs left in Texas season unless they can rally.

No heart at all. They were just happy to be there. I haven't seen any fight out of them on offense at all. One earned run in two games is just sad.

4 runs in 2 games...can't say we're surprised after watching the worst offense TX baseball has trotted on the field in a loooonnnngggg time.

Bill Little said this pitcher has only gone the distance one time this year, and the last complete game shutout for the TEAM was five years ago...Gzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Carolina starter is still on mound looking for complete game as Shepherd leads off bottom of ninth

Last UNC complete game shut out was 5 years ago.

Horns tend to make a lot of pitchers look like future Cy Young winners

had to step away and he is out somehow not sure, 1 down.

Ok I laughed at that.

Loy up as likely last batter of season for Horns.

Long fly out ends game.

3-0 UNC.

Tough way to end season but congrats to this team on winning Big XII and getting back to Omaha. Not the trip we wanted but all year the offense has been the issue and you just knew it was going to cost the Horns any real shot at a run in Omaha.

Game Over...Good season horns! We over achieved to get this far. Better start recruiting kids who can hit Augie.

That's just flat embarassing. 1 ER in 2 games in the College World Series. Hopefully they learn from this and actually show up next year.

These kids show up at Texas with the ability to hit. They come in as .475-.480 hitters from HS. And they start their first season hitting like gangbusters.

But by the time they finish their first season, their averages have dropped .200 points.

The problem is not with the kids.

Doing it Augie's way, the 'kids' gave Jungmann a 3-run cushion in our first game - two more than we needed to win - and it evaporated with out-of-control pitching. If Jungmann had done to the Gators what NC's pitcher did to us today, you'd not be blaming Augie at all.

Texanne, your post noted the difference - high school v. college. The issue is Texas attracts the top talent who commit and then turn pro leaving Augie to scramble.

This team went one series further than they should have so no one should be down on them. The good news is this god-awful embarrassing 2010-2011 Texas sports season is over.
