Cult following.

It's really scarey. We have a following for a President more than following for what's best for America. It doesn't matter how bad our economy is or how much of a disaster this President is, half the country is voting for a person more than a vote for America. Don't start screaming when I say this but his following is like a David Koresh or Jim Jones who the followers will drink the kool-aid no matter how bad the rest of us see it. I'm not saying he's those two guys, only that his foillowers have the same mind frame as those two guys followers had. What would it take for him to lose his followers? Does he have to pull a Zanduski or and OJ Simpson for them to wake up? Because unemployment over 8%, or high Gas Prices, or losing our triple A credit rating, or hiws $6 triullion in spending, or his war lies or his really everything about his presidency has been a disaster and only a loyal cult follower wouldn't see their is a problem. Again, it's scary that half our country doesn't get it. They would prefer to attack his opponent at being successful as a reason they continue to follow "THE CHOOSEN ONE"

Hell, he even has his own flag replacing the America flag.

You must have read James Taranto's piece in the WSJ this morning.

Since the cult seems to be reforming, we should all review the creepiest of Obama cult performances:

Obama

Someone pointed out that the stripes on that creepy Bo flag look sadly like the blood stripes on that column at the US Embassy in Benghazi

very creepy but typical BO crap

Obama is better for America than Romney. Period. We pick the lesser of two evils in this country. It is a shame but thats what is it has become. Obama and the dems are (right now) the best option.

Romney will be a repeat of W (without any doubt the worst President in US history). W's policies got us into this mess. Romney can't even manage to run a decent campaign with the $$$ he has. He will be a disaster in the oval office.

You can ***** all day about cults but you must know that you clearly belong to one which favors idiocy and abhors reason (GOP). That appears to be the sole reason why you want to put back in power the instruments that CAUSED this mess.

Present a better candidate with real ideas and you will win. Your rapidly declining cult can't do that. You lose.

Have a nice day.

Blah, Blah, Blah, I am angry, Blah, Blah, Blah, I am insulting you, Blah, Blah, Blah, I have contempt for you, Blah, Blah, Blah, I don't even know what this thread is about but it is a chance for me to spew venom about Republicans, Blah, Blah, Blah.

You are wrong. You can blame Reagan for the sub-prime crisis (which isn't the sole cause of this mess) as well but it was during the W administration that the targets were increased and all hell broke lose.

Again, you are wrong. Dead wrong. And the fact that you ignore facts makes you a partisan hack.

Have a nice day.

PS - Make sure you remember to vote. And do enjoy that concession speech.

Cult leaders have rabid followers. You know any rabid Obama supporters? I know University of North Texas football fans more rabid about the Mean Green than any Dem friend is crazy about Obama. I think most of us are going into this election eye-wide open. We're looking at Romney with the diplomatic skills and foreign policy understanding sorely lacking and if there has ever been a nominee less sincere in his presentation and less steadfast to his beliefs, please point him out for me.

Obama is a flawed centerist. Romney is a flawed somthin or another.

The real Obama cult following is sadly made up by members of the "mainstream media". Chris Matthews must say 100 "Hail Baracks" before going to bed every night.

I try to listen to conservative radio, but if the station get its national news from ABC or something like that, you still get a big dose of left-wing propaganda and don't get me started on the Yahoo front page.

If George W would have bungled the attack on the Libyan Embassy as badly as BO did, they'd be holding him personally responsible for the murders.

The whole, "by electing this Republican, we are just reelecting GWB" is beyond lame and baseless. The same was said about McCain. By that logic, we'll never elect another republican.

I think what it comes down to is who is best to lead for the next 4 years? People are worried about jobs, economy and deficit. On all those accounts, BO has been a disaster. There is nothing I've seen that make me think he's got magic in a bottle when this is what he's shown us for the last 3.5 years. He's not Greg Davis keeping his playbook close to the vest until the OU game (sarcasm). I think he tried his hardest and this is what we've got. Let him run on his record.
I agree a bit with the premise of the OP. I think there are people who would rather see "their guy" fail than let the other side have a shot.

To quote Bill Clinton"It's not ideology, it's hard work."
We need to stop this mindless fact-free fighting."

Romney supporters routine describe Obama as the worst president ever and when pressed to be specific soften to "OK he's for sure the worst president since Carter."

If either presidential candidate could sound as good as Clilnton did in this recent interview on the Daily Show I think I could go from amused ambivalence to genuine enthusiasm for a candidate. I'm not wishing Clinton will come back. I just hunger for something that sounds like somebody has a clue, some vision and can do something besides convince us his competitiors are unworthy and that he'll blindly follow the party dogma.

Look at the Clinton interview -- don't dismiss his ideas because of personal distaste for him. The Link

Here's what it all comes down to. The Obama supports, they all have skin in the game. They're all on the dole. Some don't have insurance, they want it. Some don't have a job, they don't care Obama will take care of them. Some guys want nothing more than to marry their boyfriend. Some, well 98% actually just want to see a black man in the White House.

But most are like our friend UWash, he has plenty of money, but he wants more. The last thing UWash wants is someone thinking there are too many damn lawyers and lawsuits. That's why he is so quit to announce Obama the winner. You're either on the dole or not. I'm sure he doesn't get government subsidies like BI accuses oil companies of having, but he still has an interest in seeing Obama win.

I'm not on the dole and don't want to be. I've built not one, but two businesses, not with the government's help, but in spite of government. Piss on Obama, "I didn't build it," I damn sure did. I've worked too many times, long into the night which most don't understand. Obama doesn't have the first damn clue what I've done because he never has. UWash has as well, but he has other motives.

Are you on the dole?

Speaking of cultists, where has Satchel been lately? Has he reported back to the mother ship to aid in November's election shenanigans?

123 -

You continue to make zero sense. Let's assume that you are right and I have plenty of money. Now, why the hell would I want Obama? I'd actually be better off with Romney in the WH.

Second, I am a lawyer, I still practice and have my own firm. In fact, I personally know the Romneys via Scott Romney (Mitt's bro) as we both represent Private Equity funds and have worked together on several deals. That said, I have started businesses - 2 in the US and 1 in Canada - and have made most of what I have made via these businesses. All self-made. I know what hard-work is. So, congrats on your having your own business but there are plenty of business owners like me who are perhaps too well-educated to vote for the GOP.

You see, some of us still vote for the betterment of the country. It is hard, because the options are ****** but in this case, there is a clear answer. You have to be out of your effing mind to vote for Romney/GOP unless you are voting for purely selfish reasons and not for what is best for the country. That is my informed and educated opinion. And I have voted for plenty of Republicans in the past and voted for Snyder (R) in Michigan.

So, assume less and think more. Your bitching and posts are childish and erratic. They make little sense.

You are a funny guy. Couldn't find a Dem who wasn't a communist?!? That is rich... and totally believable.

Also, I am 34 years old so I haven't been working that long, my friend.

Something has gone wrong for you and I pray that you find stability.

So I am a cultist because I will vote for Obama? What a stupid assertion. Some of you Republicans just can't stop putting your foot in your mouth.

Personally, I can look at the Democratic and Republican platforms and listen to what they say and easily choose to vote Democratic. Some issues are personal and some issues are not. But, either way, I agree with the Democrats at least 80% of the time. Easy choice for me.

WashU_Horn has a very appropriate sig pic in Noam Chomsky. That pic screams; "Pinko and Proud Of It". I'll bet that even BO, as radical as he is, isn't left enough for him.
