Cruz?

Courage and Integrity?
Vengefulness? (Trump was really mean and disrespectful to him and went way out of bounds to criticize Heidi)
Ego/Narcissism?

Whatever his motivation, Cruz is not playing the good soldier. Party loyalty and discipline is a major part of our political system, for good and ill. It keeps the cogs turning. Cruz is not afraid to lock the machine up.

I think he put himself on the side of the establishment last night, which is going to hurt his brand. I was not happy with him at all. They all took a pledge to support the winner. This pledge was aimed at Trump b/c they thought he would not win but would take a lot of support with him. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, Ted does not want to honor his pledge and he looks like a sore loser to me. If Ted is still pissed about the stuff Trump said during the primaries, then he should not make a speech at all.

This is going to be bad for him in the long run, I predict.

I agree Phil.
His speech was actually quite on point. All be had to do was had one little sentence and today everyone would be talking about his bright future. Instead the importance of his speech has been lost
And he looks petty while Trump looks classy since Trump knew what Cruz was going to say.
A defining moment for both

I agree completely. His speech could have been received so much more enthusiastically if he had just opened with, "I won't keep you in suspense, I am here to endorse Donald Trump for POTUS." The minor applause moments would have then been raucous cheering sessions AND he would have set himself apart from Kasich, which *should* be part of his anti-establishment strategy going forward.

This is also true IMO. It was pretty classy, as you say, for Trump to hand over the stage to all the guys who he ran against in the primary and let them say whatever they want. He rightly knew that if any of them shorted him, it was going to be worse for them than for Trump. Ted blew this big time IMO.

I'm embarrassed to admit I voted for Cruz to do my part to not let Trump win Texas. But that was a classless move on Cruz's part. Not that he feels the way he does, but to show up there for self serving reasons. That's like a guy showing up to his ex-GF's wedding to disrupt and cause a scene. What he did was bad form. But I didn't think it was all that bad last night, but he revealed to a group of Texans this morning that it was personal at the end. He approached the Trump camp to give a speech. He should have stayed home.

And I can't help but laugh at people who say "vote your conscience" is was a terrible thing for Cruz to say.

"Shut up, Ted! Don't vote your conscience. Vote for Trump!" See how dumb that sounds, Trump Supporters?

Not at a REPUBLICAN convention. For goodness sake, don't let your trump derangement syndrome ruin your brain. I'm sure you are 100% honest 100% of the time in front of friends and family.

He didn't actually say anything bad about Trump. He just didn't lick his balls, like you wanted him too. And again, if someone attacked your family the way Trump attacked Cruz's, I don't think you be in a hurry to lick his balls.

Not that I care because I voted for Cruz anyway, but didn't one of Cruz's Super pacs go after Melania first? I know that Candidates aren't suppose to be a part of those groups but we know right (winking).

They didn't boo him because of what he said. They booed him for what he did not say. Hell he could have said, "I cannot endorse Trump because of his attacks on my family. However, he is more qualified to be POTUS than Hillary, so I plan to vote for Trump."

I cannot speak for everyone, but I can say I do not hate Trump or Hillary. I can also say my reasons for not supporting Trump are not based on his lack of class, but instead based on the fact he is a socially liberal New Yorker that has no policy beyond "Build a Wall." He also likes to advance conspiracy theories.

But yet is a better choice than Hillary

But Coats, who is finishing his final term as Indiana’s senior senator, was only warming up [speaking of Cruz].

“He’s the most self-centered, narcissistic, pathological liar I’ve ever seen – and you can quote me on that,” he said.

Yet, according to Deez, Cruz is pure as the driven snow. Puhlease. Deez - master of the selectively chosen quote and/or position.

Again Cruz speech was quite good and would have had them on their feet cheering
Even if all he had said was the voters have spoken and for the sake of the party and conservatives who care who is appointed to the Supreme Court we must vote for the party nominee.
No *** kissing needed.

And why do you think I have such a high opinion of Cruz? I didn't vote for him, and I've been critical of him on many occasions. I put him above Trump, but that's not saying much. I like Wendy's hamburgers better than McDonald's hamburgers, but that doesn't mean Wendy's has great hamburgers.

Maybe Trump thinks the same and didn't give Cruz any quarter.
