Craigslisting It

I'm a dec grad and I will not be joining LHF because i don't have that kind of money. Nevertheless, I was planning on going to every game next year and buying tickets off of craigslist. Does anyone else do this? How has it worked out for you? I know obviously I won't always have the same seats, but can you get good seats for decent? Do you usually have to pay way more than face?

from personal experience, and from a guy who is not renewing his 10 years held tickets this year, I can tell you that you shouldnt have any issue getting tickets on gameday near the stadium for close to face (and even less than that for the ****** games).

If you are decked out in Orange, there are a shitton of old season ticket holders who just want someone to buy their extra ticket and if you dont look like a psycho killer, they may give you a deal.

Even if you have to deal with the scalpers you should still be OK, the closer it gets to gametime the more the price drops.

With the exception of the tOSu game 2 years ago, and the Notre Dame in '96 I havent seen it tough to get tickets, and since we dont have a great Home schedule for the next 5 years, I dont see it getting any tougher to get tickets

Keep your ID, but remember that with the advent of printable tickets, the name of the actual student who purchased the ticket is on it.

You'll find tickets just fine outside the stadium. It's taken me no longer than 10 mintues before someone has approached me about tickets. Just wear orange and hold a finger up. It's almost always face, especially from the older Ex's.

The only thing to worry about is if we get a home game like Ohio State or Texas Tech in 05. There will be a game every few years where the tickets skyrocket in price.

Also joins the Texas Exes and check the ticket exchange inside.

Tickets are almost always cheaper on game day, but I have used Cl for OU tickets and tOSU since there aren't as many in circulation before really big games.

May need to pick up some extra tickets this season. Where's the best place to find the best deals just prior to gametime?

This doesn't make any sense. What is 'That kind of money?' My donation is $336 a year for 4 seats. I split it with a buddy of mine. The season tickets are 30% off of face. So I'm saving $165 off of face value per seat...more then enough to cover my half of the donation. $336 may not get you a great seat, but it should still get you in the stadium and you'll have that seat forever. Find a buddy that wants tickets but isn't interested enough to commit long term, use your name and get tickets. You'll be glad you did later.

you still have to donate to the foundation and then pay for your tickets.

Me, Ive been a foundation member since '97(originally gave $150), and bumped it up every year after that. My original tickets were on the West side lower deck 5 yard lin e.

But, belmont screwed up my renewal in 1999, they dropped my old tickets, gave me 2 single tickets in 2 different sections, then told me that I couldnt get back my old tickets, and since I had donated $600 that year, with my "new" season tickets (now relegated up to section 102) in place, I now had to donate $600 to keep my worse tickets, which I continuted to do until this year. I know that in order to qualify for the OU tickets I am probably going to have to donate at least $1200 (but more likely $1500+) and thats not worth it. Combined with the minimum donation of $600 I have to give anyway to keep my pair, thats not worth it.

So its with sadness that I am dropping my renawal, but I have no concerns about finding tickets to the games I go to, at or near face.

Do it. I did it for almost every game last season. I never spent more than $35 for a single ticket. Make sure you keep your ID because the students are the ones selling for cheap.

I've bought tickets off Craigslist, as well as the Swap Meet on here. Had NO problems whatsoever with either. Prices were reasonable, seats were great, and the ones off Craigslist, I believe, included parking.

you could also buy the printable tickets with the students name on them. i havent done it but i know people who have and they didnt check the name. just be sure to go in about 5 mins before kickoff when there is a huge clusterfuck at the general admission gates on the west side of the stadium.
